Strollers

Is any one planning on using a jogging stroller as their main stroller?  I don't feel the need to have multiple strollers so I think we will just have the one, multi purpose stroller.

Which joggers are you looking at??

Re: Strollers

  • We are! Especially since joggers now have the attachments for your infant carriers. We are looking at the Bob strollers. We've seen lots of them around town and they come highly recommended. I intend to run with mine and use it around town since they're good for uneven surfaces.

  • We're almost 100% decided on the City Mini, which I guess isn't specifically a jogging stroller (though I think they have a special edition of it that is specifically for jogging), but I like the sportier ones.  Our sidewalks here are bonkers, and we like to do a lot of walking, so I don't want to put up with the clunky travel systems and whatnot.  We do plan on getting the carseat attachment, but I hope that early on for the longer walks we can just wear the baby.  Seems less annoying to me than the stroller.  We'll see if I am still singing that tune in March!

  • I was until I got a cheaper one from a local nestie. I was really impressed with the Baby Jogger Vity Elite and the Bumbleride Indie.
Now that we got a cheap jogging stroller if we are serious about using it and want to upgrade we will.
I'm looking at the citi mini for everyday use since I have a carseat and won't need a full travel system.

  • We are going with the city mini GT by baby jogger. Now granted this is a "jogging stroller" but is not actually approved for jogging lol No problem, I dont jog. I just love how easy it is to steer, how light it is and I can throw it into the car myself with the baby in the other hand. I am only 5'4" and have a suv truck thingy (nissan rogue) so I need to be able to get the baby and stroller in and out. This one is so easy to collapse with one hand! We only recently saw the GT and decided to register for that one instead because it has a better shock system, holds 15lbs more, has a wider seat and deeper. Seemed worth it to us! We are getting the attachments but have also decided to get the infant seat and the snap in frame thingy (like a snap and go but by Safety 1st). We figure in the beginning it will be easier to just pop the kid in and out of the bases without moving or waking them and use the frame instead of the jogger, depending where we are going. We are also trying to think down the line that when we are ready for the next one this one will be in the city mini leaving the infant seat and frame available!!

  • We were looking at the BOB and considering it for everyday use. I decided against that though. It's pretty big and long and I can't imagine taking it into restaurants or the mall or whatever.  For running though I have heard that it's great.
  • The Bob. It is very easy to pack and carry as it is very lite. I have heard very good reviews on it.
  • I was thinking about this same thing when I had DD #1. I wanted the BOB but was worried it would be too big and bulky as an only stroller. Well we ended up buying it, got the infant adapter, and also got a snap-n-go. Let me tell you, an expensive purchase, but out of everything we bought for our DD that has been worth every penny plus some!!

No, its not great for stores, etc. But once DD was out of her infant seat and we stopped using the snap-n-go and just bought a cheap umbrella stroller.

Spend the money on the stroller you want. I can't tell you how many people told me not to buy the stroller, infant seat travel system because they don't last. Well I attest that I am glad I didn't buy the travel system and spent more money on the BOB. We have def gotten our use out of it. Not to memtion it pretty much walks itself and goes over ANYTHING!!

Look out baby #3 is on his/her way!

  • I was thinking about it, but I know DH won't jog, and I refuse to jog where we live (no sidewalks, and people drive like idiots through here) so I'd have to go to the park across town to jog, and I see that getting old quick. Other than that, I don't see us using a stroller much (DH is adamant about having a baby carrier so he knows LO is safe & not grabbing things, etc.).

There is a nice jogging stroller that a friend of ours just bought that even has an ipod dock on it.

  • I wish I had gotten a Bob jogging stroller the first time around.  I didn't realize that they had the attachments for the car seat.  Instead we ended up with two strollers - the travel system for the carseat (which we loved) and a jogging stroller (which we also loved!).  This time around we are just looking at a double Bob that we can hook the carseat into.
