Best place to get a dress for a wedding

I am headed to a wedding on Saturday this weekend. What is the best place you've found for inexpensive but cute dresses to wear to a wedding?

It would be even better if I could find a dress that works for a fall wedding but can be paired with tights/sweaters to wear to my winter shower.

Re: Best place to get a dress for a wedding

  • I went to motherhood and got a black sheer dress that has silver threading in it. It was a big hit as I got lots of complements on it. I also plan on rewearing it to my shower. It was $65.

  • I got a cute one in the maternity section at Target!  It was $30 which makes it even better.

  • depending on your how much you are showing I have heard good things about minefornine.com.  The rentals are by the month so you could keep it for however long you needed it and get some wear out of it, or they give you the option to buy as well. (some is pricey).  I haven't used it but was considering using it for a wedding that will hit around my 8 month mark!

  • Yeah, I'm 24 weeks and I think some of the dresses I already own would still fit me.. I'm just at that point where I look fat in my regular clothes and pregnant in maternity clothes...but a lot of it is still big/long or the front of the dresses hang longer than the back bc I'm not big enough for it yet... Such an awkward stage!
  • I've seen a lot of cute dresses lately at Macy's, Motherhood, and target, depending on your price range and what style your looking for.

  • One of my friend's told me that she got her dress for her brother's wedding using an online maternity dress rental site.  I forgot the name, but there are a few out there.  She said the quality was great and the price was way better than buying!

I rented a dress for my brother's wedding.  RentMaternityWear.com.  They even have a free 2nd size option in case the first size doesn't work.  They have an awesome customer service department too.  I loved using them and will probably do it again for my company Christmas party.

Me too! And I can wear it for Christmas too... its a sweater dress, really, but has silver thread throughout so it's a bit fancy for everyday. And I'll be able to wear it later

  • I got a pretty cable knit sweater dress at H&M that looks like a normal dress for $40.  It'll be my shower dress :) I went to SEVEN places and H&M was the only place that had anything that didn't look like a tent.
  • Google Von Vonni transformer dress... it's amazing, and you can wear it even after you're pregnant - it's one size only, and can be stretched and wrapped a million different ways. I googled pictures of pregnant women in it just to make sure. Mine should be arriving in the mail soon!
