  I wrote my DS's from the whole family. 

   "Dear Name,

   Thank you for celebrating R's birthday with us.  The toy looks like a lot of fun/we can't wait to read the book/the outfit is just adorable/other remarks about the gift.  We're glad that you could be here for R's big day!

  I plan on writing the thank you'd from the whole family.....since they are all people that not only are important to Gator, they are important to us and help us survive the first year!
