I had some good and bad news today. First, my blood pressure was high. It's always high when I see my MFM, which sucks because it has always been low at any other dr appt I've ever had. My pulse was really high too. I'm not sure if I caused this due to anxiety or if it's a normal condition for me now. But, they made me walk up and down the hall with a pulse ox attached to my finger. Then made me do an EKG and also labs to test my thyroid, which apparently can cause all of my symptoms. The head MFM also came in to speak with me and said I have minor hand tremors. I didn't think mine shook any more than his, but he's the expert I guess. So, depending on the results of my labs, I'm either going to be on blood pressure meds or thyroid meds. I was a little upset at first, but realized I need to suck it up and do whatever is best for the babies.
So after all of this, I had an u/s to check the amniotic fluid. I asked the u/s tech if she would mind checking genders too. I really think these people love being able to check out all views of the babies just like we do, because they go over everything several times both in b/w 2D and color 3D and take tons of pictures for us. Anyway, she was able to get a good view of one of the identicals and the 3rd baby. Both appeared to be boys! I had a moment of sadness for not being able to have a girl, but quickly got over it
DH says he's not convinced and is holding out hope that one of our other u/s will show something different. I didn't realize he was hoping for a girl too, but when we got home he said that we can still use our 4 frosties to try for a girl. I'm pretty sure he won't be saying that once these 3 arrive, lol. It is so nice to refer to each of the babies as "him" and "he" rather than "the babies". Now I'm just wondering if I shouldn't change the nursery to be more masculine rather than the cutesy neutral that it is.
If you got this far, thanks for reading my novel ![]()

Yep, that's exactly how I felt. A little bit sad knowing I most likely will never have a girl. But then I thought of all the great things about boys and I got over it pretty quick. Picking names is going to be tough though. We have 1 boy's name set, but have had a hard time coming up with anymore. We did have 2 girls' names settled on though
Back to the drawing board. I'm just excited to be having any babies, so gender really isn't that big of a deal.

We could make our own basketball team!
I was already telling DH about all the sports our boys can play. We can have a QB and two receivers, a point guard and two forwards, and I'm happy with any baseball position, lol. My 10 yr old isn't into sports, but DH and I were very athletic so we're really hoping for some athletes.

That's crazy about the high blood pressure and hand tremors. Poor thing. I hope it gets straightened out with the meds.
And 3 boys?! Congrats!
I was scared to have any 3 of the same gender too. We are trying to prepare ourselves for 3 girls. The odds were 12.5%, we should go get lottery tickets, ha! My husband said the same thing about our 4 frosties! Maybe one can be a boy, lol. We'll see what happens with that.
Anyway, congrats again and get some rest.
I had been joking that with my luck, and Karma, it would be 3 girls. My fear was that they'd be just like me as a teenager, and I was a total b!tch to my mom. So once we found out it was boys, DH and I joked that I must have atoned for my past sins and he didn't. But seriously, I'm just so excited to finally know what they are that it doesn't even matter.

Congrats on three boys! I understand the brief disappointment...I am pretty sure I would feel the same way, but there are so many wonderful things about having three babies all the same sex. Little boys are so wonderful, and it will be great for them to have all those brothers to grow up with!

i am sorry to hear about the health concerns- multiples pregnancies definitely take a toll on the body.
i know what you mean about finding out about the sexes- i was definitely disappointed when i found out both of my twins were boys. with that ultrasound, i had no doubt they were boys- i saw penises on both of them. but if you feel like it was not a great shot/angle, wait til your 20w anatomy scan for confirmation.
i should also say, i love having boys. they are so much fun, and so sweet and affectionate.

IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.
Congrats on the boys! I'm sure the more you get used to it, the more positives you'll find about having all three the same gender.
You might want to invest in a home blood pressure machine so you can monitor what your typical range is. My blood pressure is always high at the doctor because subconsciously I'm worried, even though I don't always feel like it. I've heard it called "white coat syndrome". But when my husband (an EMT) checks it at home, it's always perfectly fine. Hope that you figure out whatever is going on soon!
