Halloween costumes?

Halloween is my absolute favorite time of year (besides St. Patrick's day hehe) and since LO is home I want to dress her up for her first Halloween (if even just for a picture) but all the newborn costumes will be huge on her. Did anyone dress up their 5 pounder? Or plan on it?

    We are. I got a Yoda costume on amazon anticipating a baby born Oct 17 or 18. It's zero to 6 months and will be huge! But that's ok. I'm going to alter the hat. I could care less if he swims in the robe thingy. He and ds1 will be so cute as Yoda and Darth Vader.

    Last year, J was about 6lbs at Halloween. I wanted to dress her up but couldn't find anything small enough. She ended up in a little NB pumpkin sleeper that was still too big! Good luck!

    Some of the other moms here have dressed their little ones in Build-a-Bear costumes. Maybe that would work?

    You could try and find some preemie or newborn pj's. That's what we did with DD#1 her first year (she was only a few weeks old) and we put her a newborn cow pj's.

    They're having a "party" at the NICU. Parents can bring costumes and they will take pictures and have snacks in the lounge. I have a pumpkin preemie size sleep and play  from walmart. Probably will still be big since LO is 3 lb at the moment. It has a zipper so  I'll need to cut out a hole on the bottom so that they can get the wires from her temperature, O2 and heart rate monitors through. 

    I really wanted to find a pumpkin hat but no luck. I was even checking out to see if they had anything in the pet section but couldn't find anything.

    Yes build a bear. Last year zoe was princess bell and it was from there. So cute!!!

    DS was 3lbs his 1st Halloween... We dressed him up in a build a bear outfit. It was too big for him so it might fit a 5lber well. It's fun now cause we have it on a bear that he sleeps with.
    Mom to former 30 weeker born early to Pre-E. Now happy, health and growing at home!

    We had a skeleton sleeper from carters, it was newborn size, and was super huge.  LO was only two days old, but was primarily a feeder and grower in the nicu, and was wearing clothing right away.  He was 5lbs 5 oz at birth, so it would most likely be pretty huge on your little one too.

    Check out Etsy.  I am dressing my LO as a witch...black onesie, orange and black tutu, striped babylegs, and a witch hat headband.  I saw a lot of sellers that could customize costumes for preemies.  Some were really cute pumpkin, witch, ghost, etc that would be comfy for them to wear.  More of a sleeper-type costume.
