Am I the only one...

That took DD's shirt off for cake at the birthday party?  I didn't want her to ruin her shirt with the icing... but I am noticing no one else did this  Embarrassed

  • We stripped E down to her diaper. Our cake had black and red on it and I didn't want it to ruin her outfit

  • That's actually a good idea, I have a special bib for him for his smash cake.  Which reminds me to pull it out and wash it before hand.
  • I took his vest off because it's part of another outfit, but his short was a one day Birthday shirt, so I left it on. If it was something he was going to wear again I probably would have taken it off. I usually do when he is eating something messy. I had to change his clothes after the cake.

  • Gray won't be wearing a shirt at his party. I got him a embroidered denim diaper cover he will wear with his cowboy boots (cowboy themed party) and that's all.

  • I had a happy birthday onsie under her dress, so I took off her dress for the smash. However, it wasn't necessary as she was very delicate and only took a few bites :) Had I not found a matching shirt, she would have been topless.

  • I wanted to, but DH said no, so I settled for a t-shirt and diaper.
  • R had his cake in a swim diaper and nothing else.  I thought he would get super messy and had plans to scoop him up and dump him in the bath when he was done...but alas, he was unhappy with how the icing felt on his hands and stayed relatively clean.  But, to answer your original question, I did take his shirt off.

  • I was going to, but it was a little chilly so I just put her in a onesie that barely fits anymore.

  • We took DS's shirt off both for his cake on Thursday and his birthday party on Saturday. I didn't want to spend days trying to get the stains out of his shirts...blue jeans I didn't care about.

  • I did! It was a red shirt but I was still scared it would stain.

I want him to be able to wear it when we go to Disney so I wanted to make sure he didn't ruin it!

  • DD also wore a shirt that said "Birthday Girl" so I wasn't too worried about it staining.  I did spray it with stain remover when we got home and it all came out though.

  • I changed her into a cheap t-shirt dress thing. I didn't want her sailor outfit to get dirty(er).

  • I have a different shirt for Gator to wear during cake.

  • We wanted things to be as easy as possible...so DS did his cake smash in just a diaper and then went straight to the tub.

  • C wore two different outfits for her party - one for before and after cake and one specifically for cake eating because I didn't want her outfit to get ruined.

  • I've stripped both kids down to their diaper for cake. DS had a personalized shirt I didn't want to ruin and DD is going to wear her birthday outfit as part of her Halloween costume.
