Anyone else have a LO who is behind on laughing? My son has been chuckling for about a month, and some happy squeals, but nothing I consider to be true laughing. Our pediatrician wasn't concerned, but I feel like he is so behind!
My daughter started laughing about a month ago, but my son really just started doing what you described your son doing this week. My daughter is into full on belly laughs and squealing, but my son is not. She consistently does things earlier than him and the pedi says that's normal for little girls to develop faster than little boys. I'm sure our DSs will get there soon.

Yeah DD smiles a lot, and sometimes she gets so happy/excited that she looks like she might explode with joy, but still no laughs! Sometimes we also get excited squeals out of her, or a 'heh' when she's particularly happy to see someone, but no real giggles. She's even ticklish, but even that won't produce laughs!
Our friends' DD didn't giggle till 5 months, so maybe we just have a little left to wait...

Maybe he just is not a big laugher. DS has little chuckles very often but there are very few things that will get him really laughing, and those things are mostly sounds, which, if we don't get them exactly right, he will just look at us like "you fail".
No laughing and he's just started squealing and heh-ing in the last two weeks. Our pediatrician doesn't even ask till the 6 month; at four she's only concerned that he's smiling on his own.
I think my DS is a rather serious or sarcastic baby. He'll giggle for a quick second then look at you like "that wasn't funny, mama." I assume he's just not a laugher! Takes after his mama with the sarcasm. The highest form of humor if you ask me.
