just prep for a colonoscopy!! I am only allowed liquids and jello today and I am already starving. I have had to use Miralax every night for the past week and I have a buttload of laxatives in my near future. I have done this before but I was always allowed to eat lightly the day before and then clean out with the big gallon jug of sudsy, nasty Golytly. My gastro. seems to think that I will be able to do it the new way with Gatorade without a problem since my hypoglycemia has been fine since having babies.
backstory: This is the first time in 3 years that I am not pregnant and/or BFing and I can do itI was due for a follow up in 2009. I had my first one 13 years ago when I was having symptoms (blood and irregularity) and they found a golf ball sized polyp that was biopsied as pre cancerous. After I was all clear the last time he told me to come back in 5 years and it has been 8.... I am a colonoscopy veteran but please keep your fingers crossed for me that I am still all clear!
Re: want to know how to shed those last few lbs? ::CODE BROWN::
ETA I had to laugh at "buttloads of laxatives" in your future haha
Keeping my fingers crossed!
MH had had to have one last spring.
BTW can you upload us a video of you after the procedure looped up farting? I think it will help liven up the board.
OMG I so did this is the recovery area. I was giggling like a 9 year old boy at the farts. MH was so embarassed - ha! Can you imagine the nurses in the recovery area seeing that every day?
It is so funny though because the nurses are encouraging you to fart! When I had my first one I had so much air that I insisted I had to poop. They brought me the bedpan and all I did was fart! Should be loads of fun tomorrow.
Talk about a silver lining! Hope that everything turns out good.
2 days!!! I would cry too, I am starving. I am just hoping to get some sleep, I have to be up to drink another Gatorade Miralax cocktail at 4:30am.
I remember the prep for those...by the end I was just sitting the pot while drinking the horrible stuff. I also remember trying to give myself an enema at 5 am the morning of (per doctors orders), and not being able to and crying for DH to help me out. Sad, sad, sad.
Good luck, I hope all goes well.
JG, how did it go?
I can relate, I get a colonoscopy every 12 to 18 months to keep an eye on the Crohn's. I always feel like the prep is worse than the whole deal.
I remember the first time though, I could feel it and was cursing up and down and the doctor kept telling me there was a lady in the room until I snapped he could call the shots if some azzhole was shoving up things in HIS azz.
I always wonder why they have to make you drink this poison - there must be a better way of doing that. At the very least, they could try to make ice cream or something tasty to start the process.....
