I don't have any more ideas besides taking DD on a hayride and story time for Halloween. No candy for her just yet, but I feel like I want to do some more stuff with her. Any more ideas?
We're going to trick-or-treat but I intend to keep whatever candy we get for myself I don't let LO have any either.
Have you painted pumpkins? Gone to a pumpkin patch (or a nursery/farmers market)? Gone for a walk to see decorations? Also you can google/ pintrest halloween crafts for toddlers.
Just remembered: In my area, there are several "trick or treat" activities the week preceding halloween. They are usually charity fundraisers and have things like bounce houses, etc. in addition to collecting candy. See if you have anything like that.
Last year we attended the local 'boo at the zoo' we will most likely do that the weekend before Halloween. We are going to the pumpkin patch next weekend, and we will walk around our cul de sac on Halloween, just to see how she does.
We went to a pumpkin patch yesterday. They had a corn maze (for adults) she had fun having the corn stalks touch her. They had a slide that had straw going up it, she went down the slide at least 5 times with the biggest smile on her face. We also picked out own pumpkins out in the field. I sat her down by a bunch of them and let her pick which one she wanted. (Luckily it was a good choice)
There was also a bounce house, a corn pit (like a sand box of corn cornels) and wooden train you could crawl thru but was to crowded with kids.
Some other ideas are trick or treating for the experience, boo at the zoo for the lights, playing in the leaves, playing with the inside of a pumpkin, painting the outside of a pumpkin, etc.
