Keeping Milk in mouth and not on his face

When my preemie eats about 80% of the time - I don't know what he is doing but I swear over half of what we are giving him is coming out of the side of his mouth and all over his face. Maybe the flow is too fast? Then why does he do good at other times? Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem?

    Is he BF or bottle fed?  Either way, how is his latch?  My LO never latched well. When we were BFing milk would be all over the place!   With bottles we started with Dr. Brown standard and she was a mess while drinking.  We switched to Born Free (wide neck) and it helped a ton.  She is still a messy eater, but it isn't as bad.
