Adoption

Intro Time!

Hello all! I have been a bump member for a long while, a former regular in the Infertility/3T and Baby Names boards. After our round of IVF failed, I basically unplugged myself from the forums because it was really painful for me and I needed time to grieve and figure out where to go from there.

So, here we are 4 months later making adoption plans...or at least trying to get the ball rolling some. I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders, now that we have made adoption our plan A and not our backup plan. I don't know why I was hanging on to the dream of pregnancy when all I care about is actually being a Mother. I know we have a lot of work ahead of us but it already feels right.

We are going to be pursuing domestic infant adoption, and we are doing so very slowly and cautiously. Hoping to start our home study process in the next 3-6 months, so right now just trying to decide if we want to go the agency route or tackle independent adoption and doing research on Texas agencies. It's all so overwhelming!

Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself, and warn you that I will surely have LOTS of questions for you board members. I look forward to being a part of this community! And any words of wisdom are encouraged :)
