If you were to name a child strictly after someone in history that you admire (no relatives more like writers, scientists, activists) what would you name the child and who is it after (in case it isn't obvious)
Ex: Mark Albert (Mark Twain) (Albert Einstein)
I'm curious to hear what people come up with! Thought it would be fun!
Off the top of my head I might do:
Maya Florence (Maya Angelou) (Florence Nightingale)
EDIT (because of course I think of something after I post): Hannah Florence (Kristin Hannah, favorite author) (Florence Nightingale, nursing connection)
Re: Name with history
Off the top of my head, Leonardo. But it is kind of funny that you say Florence. We were going to use that with one of our dds, or use Flora. It is my gma's middle name, and dh is related to Florence Nightingale. It would have been for both, but gma raised such a stink about no one using her name, we dropped it.
The first thing that came to mind:
G: Eleanor Theresa (Roosevelt/Mother Theresa)
B: drawing a complete blank
I would probably use Jane Harriet (Jane Austen and Harriet Taylor), Valentina Marie (Valentina Tereshkova and Marie Curie), Clara Anne (Clara Barton and Anne Frank) & Leonardo Keats (Leonardo Davinci and John Keats),
I love Maya Florence by the way!
Well we have a Zelda already, like Zelda Fitzgerald.
Abraham Vincent (Abraham Lincoln and Vincent Van Gogh)
Carl Noam (Carl Jung and Noam Chomsky)
Nikola Frederick (Nikola Tesla and Fredrick Douglas)
Susan Elizabeth (Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton)
Margaret (Margaret Thatcher) Cornelia (Corrie ten Boom)
Gregory (Gregory "Pappy" Boyington) Andrew (Andrew Jackson) -- DH's suggestions
Hmm...
Jane Louisa (Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott)
Charles Martin (Charles Schulz, Martin Luther King Jr)
