If you could change something from your birthing experience what would it be? besides the obvious pain
I would have loved to have been pregnant just a little longer. I knew he would be born at 36 weeks and I feel like I was so worried about his health and if he would have to go to the NICU, I couldn't really enjoy it. I hope that doesn't sound bad or pity because I know there are really sick babies out there. I also wish labor wasn't so long! I was so exhausted that I really don't remember the end. I would love to have more memories or right before his birth.
What has been the most difficult parenting speed bump for you?
Sleep! he still isnt the best sleeper.
Who does your LO resemble most? He's my husbands identical twin.
What has been the worse advice you have received in regards to parenting?
Thankfully, I really haven't gotten anything bad! I'm lucky to be surrounded by people who realize he's my kid and I get to make the decisions!
Anything you wish you could change from this experience? i wish i had given breastfeeding a better shot. I have no guilt over formula but i feel like i missed the experience. I do think its better prepared me for what to expect with number two though!
Do you regret your LO's name pick? No, he's the perfect Andrew.
What did you enjoy most about being pregnant? Feeling him move.

1. If I could change something about the birth experience: I wish DH had been able to be in the room and witness it. It was a planned c-section and only 1 person was allowed in the room, I'm so grateful that BM allowed me to be in there.
2. Most difficult parenting speed bump: Balancing my time. There are never enough hours in the day
4. Worst parenting advice received: I can't think of any, I know I've heard some bad advice, but not from family or close friends, so I don't pay much attention to it or remember. My MIL has told me to do a few things that we ignored, like rubbing whiskey on his gums.
5. Anything I wish I could change: I wish I could be a SAHM. I always wanted to, and originally planned to, but that just isn't possible right now
6. Do you regret LO's name: No, I think it fits him perfectly. DH actually told me the other day that he's really happy with DS's name, and is glad that we chose it instead of one of our other choices. I guess he was unsure about the middle name, I had no idea he had doubts about it, but now he frequently calls DS by his first and middle name.
7. I'll just tell you one of my favorite moments of the pregnancy: Getting his ultrasound pictures, BM had her first u/s after we matched, when she was about 7 months pregnant. She sent us a disc of all the pictures, and I was so excited! I loved being able to see him, I fell in love instantly. And I was so grateful that she shared that experience with us.
Your journey sounds so BEAUTIFUL! You got me teary.
What has been the most difficult parenting speed bump for you? Milk protein allergy early on and not sleeping the last few months
Who does your LO resemble most? Me it is kind of eery
What has been the worse advice you have received in regards to parenting?
CIO is terrible, give her cows milk at like six months
Anything you wish you could change from this experience? I wish I did not have to work
Do you regret your LO's name pick? I love her name
What have you enjoy most about being pregnant? I hated pregnancy: I threw up the whole time it was miserable; I love being a mom though
Pipsqueak born 6/9/14
Baby Boy #2 is on the way!
And Hilary B, I can't believe that anyone would tell you to bite a 6 month old. Sure, that works if needed. When they're TWO.
my read shelf:
I get teary when I think about it too. I seriously cannot tell his birth story without tearing up. It was such a hard journey, but I think we truly did find the child we were meant to have. And we've been very lucky that we get along so well with his BM
Good post!
Certified Veterinary Technician / SAHM
What has been the most difficult parenting speed bump for you? Probably my soon to be ex. He has made everything more difficult
Who does your LO resemble most? Stbx, but I definitely see myself in him as well
What has been the worse advice you have received in regards to parenting? To wean early. When I went back to work 2 months, my coworker said, "so have you weaned yourself from him, yet?" Soooo rude, disrespectful, and none of your business!
Anything you wish you could change from this experience? I wish I started pumping earlier and took more fenugreek
Do you regret your LO's name pick? I
What have you enjoy most about being pregnant? Feeling him move and seeing him on the ultrasound
If you could change something from your birthing experience what would it be? (besides the obvious pain)
I wish I could have delivered my placenta naturally instead of having to be put under general anesthesia directly after giving birth. It would have been nice to have that bonding time with DS.
What has been the most difficult parenting speed bump for you?
Right now, it is how clingy DS is. He whines all the time if he is not with me.
Who does your LO resemble most? DS is all DH.
What has been the worse advice you have received in regards to parenting?
To give DS a graham cracker when he started teething at 4 months.
Anything you wish you could change from this experience? Nope
Do you regret your LO's name pick? No, I was a little hesitant before he was born, but Sean is the perfect name for DS.
What have you enjoy most about being pregnant? Feeling him move.
1. I wouldn't have let the nurse push me into an epi so soon, instead I would have told her to eff off and hopped back in the tub lol and I would have labored at home a little bit longer.
2. Probably nursing, in the beginning. That was beyond awful!
3. Daddy 100%... sometimes I wonder if she's mine! Hahaha
4. I don't know if it's advice or not but the one nurse we always saw had bee n telling us since 6 months that Maya was underweight and off the curve, and nothing I did would fix it and I seriously felt like I was starving my child! (Although she is perfectly healthy looking and acting, and shes got little chub rolls) Come to find out a month ago that the nurse never used the correct chart the one from the World Health Organization that is mainly based on breastfed infants, and she stays on the curve perfectly since she's been born!! I swear I could have punched that nurse in the face!
5. Nope not a thing!
6. Occasionally I wonder if we should have named her something different, mostly because I have many many girl names that I LOVE, but over all no... her name fits her well.
7. A lot of things, I really miss feeling her kick and move around and just knowing that she is snuggly safe inside of me with everything she needs!
