I do a combination on table foods and sneak in spoon fulls of jar food. I like giving DD jar foods only because I can "See" and "know" what her nutritional intake is. With table foods I can still "see" how much she's eating but I'm always wondering if She's getting the nutrition she needs. Here's our typical :
Breakfast is 1/2 container of Gerber yogurt and either fruit,a pancake a waffle or Cheerios..
Lunch is usually a jarred veggies or meat w/ cooked fresh veggies and maybe some bread.
Dinner is hard.. Its again some cooked fresh veggies, sometimes I give her Chicken, sometimes Mac N Cheese. she'll pretty much eat whatever we're eating but I also give her jarred food..
It just seams so boring lately and again I'm not quite sure If I'm meeting her nutritional needs? She still has her bottles and I'm also just started adding one ounce of WCM. I would like to stop jar food soon being that she's almost One.
Snacks in between meals will be either some fruit, maybe some animal crackers, could be some puffs, a carrot stick or may some string cheese..
Whats your LO typical meal time foods?
Re: Food Ideas for LO's on only table foods?
we're in the same boat. We give him little pieces of chicken and turkey (we like to make big batches of chicken breast at a time), small pieces of pasta, cut up cheese, toast or pancakes. Pretty much anything we are eating. He tried spaghetti last night for the first time. I also made him hard boiled egg the other day but unfortunately he wanted nothing to do with that. He loves scrambled eggs though, go figure. He is almost done with purees-takes a few bites in between feeding himself table food, but will turn his head away when he's had enough.
One thing I always gave DS1 was the frozen mix of peas, carrots, etc...I would just microwave a small amount at a time and he loved that.
I understand the concern about nutrition, but as long as you are giving a variety of foods that are healthy it is probably ok.
For breakfast, we do oatmeal and fruit. Sometimes jarred, sometimes cut up pieces. Occasionally he will have a waffle or toast or egg.
Lunch is a combination of protein/fruit/vegetable. Sometimes all three, sometimes not. I've been trying to move away from the jarred foods, so for example, I'll give him some baked chicken left over from dinner, and some cut up fruit or vegetable. I usually just feed him as much as he will take.
Dinner is often what we are eating. If it is something I don't want to feed him (like chinese takeout) then he gets leftovers or he gets jarred something. We've also been doing the Gerber pasta pick ups. I cut them in half and he loves them.
Overall, I just try and balance things out. I am careful about not feeding him junk or high sodium foods, but other than that, anything goes. We had crabs the other night and he ate that. We had beef stew last week, and he ate that for a few meals. The other night we had tilapia and zucchini, and that's what he had for dinner.
It took a little internet searching, but one of the state's has a WIC food guide chart that discusses serving amounts per age group. It says how much grain, fruit, veg, protein, dairy of each they should have per day.
breakfast is usually yogurt with fruit and some oatmeal, or rice cooked in milk with fruit
lunch is anything from fruit veggies, beans, cheese, pasta, veggie muffins, meatballs, pieces of fish or turkey.
dinner- whatever i'm having plus anything missing from the rest of the day.
her morning and afternoon snack is cheerios plus a little something else
We never did purees/jarred food. Here's how our meals breakdown:
Breakfast during the week is yogurt/yogurt drops (I freeze drops of yogurt for quick, less messy meals) and fruit. During the weekend it'll be eggs, pancakes, or waffles. Today was vanilla yogurt and a nectarine.
Lunch is whatever I pack for DH and I. Pasta, salads, sandwiches, leftovers, stew, etc. Today he had leftover cheese ravioli and some strawberries.
Dinner is whatever DH and I are eating. Which varies greatly. Obviously last night we had cheese ravioli (and a tomato salad). Tonight we're having carnitas.
For snacks I'll give him Trader Joe's freeze-dried fruits, fruit, cheese, veggies, crackers, or yogurt covered pretzels.

This is what DS has eaten today (so far):
Breakfast: pancakes, banana and a few puffs.
Snack/late light lunch: mozzarella cheese and crackers
& for dinner he will eat: jar of veggies, ravioli and cheese doodles (they are organic veggie/cheese doodles)
We desperately need to get to the store so his meals today were light but 99% of the time he gets a jarred food for breakfast and dinner with fresh fruit/veggies and something like puffs or the cheese doodles I mentioned. I usually also give him more fresh fruits. Other things he likes, grilled cheese, english muffins, pasta, teething biscuits/cookies, goldfish, yogurt, cheddar cheese, blueberries, etc.
