Alone Together - article from Still Standing magazine

Still Standing magazine posted this today:

"I think that we all grieve the loss of potential here, a child that might have been. And it?s hard to explain to others what we mourn for. A baby, a child, a teenager, a young woman or man, an adult, their children, their old age, their grandchildren. Worlds upon worlds of loss.

Because if your baby does not survive birth, or infancy, or is never to be at all. That is what vanishes. A world in its entirety."

The author discusses the loneliness and depth of the grief of BLMs, and also has some very touching and true things to say about the special way that we connect with each other.

I just wanted to say that I'm glad you understand, and I'm glad I found you. And that I understand, too. We're not alone.

That explains so much of what I feel. Thanks. My sister got married a few weeks after my first loss, and I had to leave during the father/daughter dance she did with my dad, because I just kept thinking, "That will never be my husband with my little daughter." It was such an unexpectedly painful moment, and I still cry just thinking of it. Thanks for sharing this article/quote.
