Don't be picking on Cleveland
If my DH ever gets a really big promotion we will have to move to Cleveland. Some of Cleveland is actually really nice and there is a ton of kid friendly things to do.
Although the GPS did get me and Zack lost due to construction and there are also some not so nice parts

Maybe this should be my FFFC - but yes, sometimes I think it's acceptable for a man to hit a woman. It's sometimes acceptable for a woman to hit a man.
This is not one of those times.
My friends in Cleveland say they are fairly accurate. We always sing the lyrics back and forth when we talk to them.
He still shouldn't have hit her, though. She's a child. A grown asss man shouldn't be uppercutting a girl.
I wasn't really making fun of it...I'm a born and bred Clevelander. I still consider it my home. My family is still there.

I don't really feel bad for this girl. She was harrassing that dude and she spat on him. She got punched.

ETA: This is in direct contrast to my previous statement, but upon watching the video again I realized that she was being the jerk in this situation. The guy could've not punched her, but FFS this girl should NOT be let off the hook for her part in this.
Not at all...read my first response. I was just stating that she wasn't a teen. She was old enough to know better than to be disrespectful. I don't think she deserved to be hit...kicked off the bus, yes.

I do not think that hit was justified at all. I see WAY worse crap happen on the CTA and those bus drivers handle it well better than that guy.

Honestly I'm with Fezzes on this one. I get that it's not popular and yeah he could have handled it 10 different ways better than he did. Most likely he will loose his job over it. Which he should it was a dumb impulsive move. But honestly if someone spit on you after berating you like that what would your reaction be?
I've met more than a few women who think they can get away with hitting, spitting, screaming and it's ok because "He damned well better not hit me back." If we turned a hitting situation (man hitting a woman first) around I wonder how many people here would be as bothered at the other person (the woman) striking back. Because it's a woman we get up in arms. Yeah it's harsh but the moral of the story here really is don't start a fight you can't win.
I wouldn't argue for him to keep his job, fine fire him, but I don't agree with being sued. People need to learn to take a little responsibility... That chick was WAY out if line.

A whole lot of people were saying "He should've just kicked her off the bus." That, IMHO, is letting her off the hook for her behavior.
Sorry, but if someone verbally harasses me and spits on me, they better believe they are getting their ass whuped.

Sometimes people just need to realize that their behavior could have horrible consequences.
Someone upthread said that there are women in this world who think they can do anything and not be held accountable because "no man would ever hit me".
That's a bullshiit way of thinking.
Bus driver could have just slammed on his brakes and sent her flying. If you want to hurt someone who is pissing you off at least be smarter about it.
I agree that if this was posted with the gender roles switched the reponses would have been "hell yeah, get his ass" "that is what he gets for messing with a women"..etc.
I also agree there is a difference between a man hitting a women (25) and a kid (5) who is acting this way. While I am not all "get her ass for she deserves it" I can't find myself standing behind saying that this guy is totally wrong. Sometimes you're defensive instinct kicks in and you must protect yourself. Even if he is bigger we can't assume he isn't scared. He reacted like a human. I don't blame him.

I wish the video hadn't been yanked, it makes it hard to have a solid thought. But based on what has been said here, I will say this:
Don't start $hit and it won't be $hit.
