We're going to get DD a play table for the living room for Christmas, and also a bunch of the Ikea wooden train set stuff. Should we set up the train stuff on the table for her and somehow cover it for her to "unwrap" or just wrap the packages with the pieces for her to open?
This just occurred to me after I posted about how her birthday present came in pieces and had I known that, I would've opened it and put it together before giving it to her. But part of the fun of a train set is building it, no? or is she still too little to "get" the building part of it?
Am I completely overthinking this?

I think it would be neat to have it set up for her.
When we were little, Santa always left stuff unwrapped/already set up, so I guess "who" it's from would help me decide. I would still want her to have something to unwrap.
But I doubt she will see the fun in setting anything up, at this age.
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
Big stuff to play with right away like that, I would set it up already.
Maybe you could wrap up some of the individual trains and put them, wrapped, on the tracks?
