Pregnant after 35

okay this is just pure nonsense... LOL

When I was 17 and pregnant with my son then again at 30 with our daughter I never thought once about miscarriage, symptoms, lack of symptoms, discharge, cravings, etc...  I was cooooool as a cucumber.

This time I am 40 and pregnant and I psycho anylize every twinge, symptom, craving.... ohh my gosh it is crazy.   I swore I would NOT do this but here I am * head desk*

This week has been crazy to say the least.   Monday was pretty normal: sore breasts, nautious, groggy but not overly tired.   Tuesday the only thing I could keep down was cheerios and grilled cheese.   Wed. I was still a bit nautious but was able to eat toast with cinnamon and sugar on it and grilled cheese for lunch.  Thursday was the same thing.
NOW today I wake up and my breasts are not full and sore like they had been and I am still a little nautious but not too bad.

I have also had some very very very slight brown tinge when I wipe all week.. never gets worse never gets better.. always brown/tan color.  No cramping (other than occasional normal twinges) no bleeding.

Then the other crazy thing is I have all these issues during the day then when my husband comes home at 5... "poof" they are gone and I am able to eat anything I want?   I think this baby is trying to make me out to be a lier!!!

Please tell me I am not the only one who is on a roller coaster ride.

I try not to think about things that could go wrong but sometimes it is hard.  I keep praying that God keeps this baby safe.

ooft.. I need a nap.. but I also need to go to the store, do laundry and make a path through the house.. LOL

  • I had an internalized panic attack for a few days when I hit about week 7 and change. My symptoms were almost non exsistent for several days, and BAM, then they came back and have gotten progressively worse every day since.

Based on that I can definately say your symptoms can come and go, sometimes even for a few days at a time. Try not to stress to much about it.. though I'll admit I feel like a total hypocrite saying that lol...

  • I can so relate AND sad to say it really hasn't gotten any better.  Now I am worried about pre-term labor and I was sure I had Braxton Hicks last night.  Then I swore I hadn't felt her move in hours so I was poking my belly and freaking out.  The little lady kept me up all night kicking and punching.

The pregnancy crazies are a drag and I just pray when my mind gets out of control.

All of that said, symptoms came and went for me in first tri so try not to worry:)

  • I was  just lurking on this board and I am so glad I found this post! We plan on TTC in January for our 3rd and I've already got myself all worried. I fear being older (35 vs 29/31) and having had such healthy pregnancies/babies that my luck will run out! I also wonder what it will be like this time around - it took 2 years and 2 miscarriages before having DS1 but DS2 was a total surprise - got pregnant with him when I was still on the pill and he was born only 21 mos after his brother.

But anyway, best of luck you and I think what you are going through is totally normal
