Hi, DD1 just turned 2 so I've never posted on this particular board, so I just wanted to say hi and ask a question I'm having trouble with. I don't post on here too much anymore, but anyone who has been in this situation or similar, help!
My two girls are 20 months apart, with the oldest just turning 2. As of right now, DD2 is sleeping in our room in a bassinet. She's outgrowing it and is getting to that point where she needs to be sleep trained. With DD1 we Ferbered her at 5 months with no problems (and now is an awesome sleeper) and plan on doing the same with her sister, as long as we feel she is ready. DD1 had been put in her crib and own room since day one and didn't do that with her sister because we didn't want to disrupt her sleep. Now DH and I want our room back and I'm tired of rocking DD to sleep.
I'm not looking for attackers of the Ferber method, rather any suggestions or help regarding the actual transition into the crib and new room. TIA!
Re: XP: Sleep training a younger sibling when sharing a room
Our 2nd will be born in Dec and will share a room with our first...eventually. We plan on keeping him/her in our room until sleep training is complete. DS was a huge baby and outgrew his bassinet prior to 3 months. We got one of these to keep in our room and it worked perfectly. Could you upgrade to something like this and keep it in your room while you're transistioning? (Or if you have a huge room, you could move the crib in for a short time and then move it back into the girls room.)

The only other suggestion I can think of would be to try to put the baby to bed before the older one, so that the crying is out of the way and does not disrupt DD #1's sleep.
