My last pregnancy I had a HORRIBLE vaginal birth experience I ripped horribly 4th degree to be exact. My blood pressure dropped super low and Ethan's heart rate stopped due to the cord being around his neck. I pushed for two hours and was in labor for over 30. It was not a enjoyable peaceful experience. Dont get me wrong I know birth isnt fun but I wanted to be able to take in each moment and did not get that. I was in pain for months after words and had to carry a pillow to sit on everywhere I went for 4 months. My question is I am debating talking to my doctor this go round ( which is a different doc as we now live in a new state) about doing a c-section while I know that isnt fun either at least a have a semi idea what to expect versus having a vaginal birth and possibly tearing again. I am not saying a c-section couldnt come with its own set of problems I am just hoping I wont have the experience I had last go round.

Re: question?
AMEN!!! I couldnt have said it better myself. i chose elective c-section and I dont regret at ALL. I felt great at about 2 weeks out. The worst part is DEFINITELY the anticipation. I commend elective c-sections 100000000%!
Me too. I am having a RCS this time around. My recovery was so much easier than several of my friends who had birth stories similar to yours.
I personally do not recommend c-sections, BUT I had a not-so-great experience. I had to be induced 10 days past my due date, labored for a few hours before I easily got to 10 cm...great, right? Then I pushed for 4 1/2 hours and got absolutely nowhere so I ended with an unplanned c-section. I partially blame getting induced, but baby was so late it was sort of necessary and my doc wouldn't let me go longer. Top it off with a 9 1/2 lb baby. My recovery was terrible...I was in so much pain and was miserable, and I was in tip top shape so it sort of surprised me how rough it was to recover. I have *heard* that it's the unplanned c's that are rough. It seems like planned ones are much easier, according to pp's above!
With a future pregnancy, I would like to try for a VBAC if I'm a good candidate but at the same time, I don't want to go through what I went through last time again and would rather have a planned C if I have to have one. Anyway, I've rambled...it sounds like your experience was definitely rough with the vaginal birth! Maybe you can wait to find out if you're having a boy vs. girl, see how big they are, etc. before you make your decision?
