DH and I are still struggling... and 3 weeks are closing in!
We both liked the name Vanessa originally. But now, we just don't know!
I have leaned towards E names, slightly latin. (I am hispanic). Elena, Emilia, Marisa, Lila (vetoed) were my choices.
He tends to like super traditional: Abigail (Abby), Alexandra (Alex), Allison (Ally) and his newest is Leah.
Last night I had a dream about this family I used to babysit for and the daughter was Marisa and the mom was Leana (Lee-ahh-na). DH randomly text me today... "What about the name Leanna or Liana?". I love weird coincidences!!
I haven't heard this name in ages and I do think it's pretty... any thoughts? Or perhaps any suggestions to keep us going in the right direction???
TIA!!!
Re: WDYT of Leana ?
I kind of figured... But I guess as long as it's Lee-ann-ah, I don't think that's too bad.
ECK! (ha)
Maybe Liana instead?

First, I THINK I like it. But is it "Lina" "Lena" or is it an "Anna" at the end so lee'anna?
The name either way is good, but the spelling needs to be fixed IMO.
I agree with this. When I opened this, I thought it was a unque spelling of Lena.
I think given the way this name came up, you just have to use it!

Is Leana pronounced the same or would it be Lay ana?
ETA: Apparently I should have read more carefully. At first glance I see Lena, but I do like both Lena and Leanna.

I like it a lot! People will get over the spelling. It's not that weird or awkward.
Tastes have changed on this board for sure! When I was pregnant the first time I had Leanna/Leanne/Liana/Leana and a couple other variations up for grabs.
I got flamed to the heavens because people thought I a) made them up b) smooshed a bunch together c) it was all too 80s.
I'm glad we're coming around.
