Two Under 2

Double Stoller ?

Hi ladies! I'm typically a lurker on here and thought that I'd get some good advice from experienced mommas like yourselves! I've got an 18 month old and a LO on the way due early - early Feb.

I'm having the hardest time deciding on a double stroller. I'm going to get a Graco because I have a Graco infant seat and need it to snap in without having to purchase a bunch of extra attachments to make it work. But I just don't know which one to get! Anybody have a Graco double stoller? I'm debating between the Graco Duo Glider and the Graco Quattro Tour Duo. The price difference is quite large between the two ($100 more to get the Quattro).

I just can't figure out which is better. I don't live in a town with a large baby supply store and when we went to one out of town, they only had the Quattro in stock to test drive so I had no way to compare the two.

If you have either, or have any experience with either...please weigh in!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Double Stoller ?

  • I love my DuoGlider. It's a little smaller than the Quattro, I think. The basket underneath is huge and easy to access, it's pretty easy to steer, even one handed while holding a baby. It folds up pretty easily and fits well in the trunk of my Jetta. We have a Graco SnugRide 32 infant seat and it does snap in, though it's kind of a tight fit. If you have the smaller SnugRide it should fit perfectly.

I got a used Duo Glider off Craigs list and used it maybe 5 times total.  It's a beast but I think most tandem doubles are.

In the beginning I wore the baby and continued to use our single stroller.  It's so much easier to chase after a toddler with the baby secured to your body!!

Once the baby was bigger we found the sit and stand a better fit for us.  Baby secured, toddler able to get out but also able to be secured.  With a true double I was constantly getting the toddler in and out of the stroller at places like the zoo so he could do some exploring.  It became exhausting.  Sit and stand suited our needs better because he could run around when we were OK with it but have a place to rest when tired and a place to ride safely to the car in a parking lot.

My advice is to wait until you see what the personality of your older one is stroller-wise when you get closer to the point of actually needing one.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • I would suggest making this decision closer to the time your next LO arrives. By 2, my son was all done with the stroller. We haven't used the double stroller in nearly a year--I've never found a need for it.

Another thing-- we have the combi twin sport as our double and I was able to use my graco carseat in it without any extra attachment--it fit perfect. I would suggest trying it out at BRU. I liked that stroller a lot because it was lightweight and easy to fold up/get in the car.
