Switching to Bottles

So I am trying to wean DS from breast to bottle. He used to take a bottle/formula just fine! Now he is refusing of course because I want to switch him.  He won't even take an ounce. I am trying to give it to him at low-stress times, tried Nuk, Nuby, Playtex, and Born Free bottles so far.

I am just not sure how to get him to take it.  I know its better if it is a slow process but honestly he is biting me (to the point of bleeding) with his teeth and I want to stop NOW. I have tried everything to stop the biting, so now I would like to switch him to bottles.

How do I do it?

Re: Switching to Bottles

  • We use Tommee Tippee bottles. DD likes them. Did you try warming up the bottle nipple? DD refused her daily bottle for a week until we did that. Now she is fine with the bottle again.

No I didn't! That is a good idea, I will try that next feeding.

Probably a silly question but how do you warm up the nipple? I will try anything and everything!

Wow! Your LO has teeth? How many? Thats my fear that LO will bite once his teeth come in.  :(

Wow...I will probably be switching to bottles too when LO's teeth come in.

  • Yeah I would suggest tomme tippee. And with teething I've said "I'm not betting on nothing and well see what happens." I'm pretty sure I will not like being bit.

    Good luck.

I know my LO likes a warm bottle or room temp. She had this gooey spit up when you give it to her cold.
