So, in her 3.5 month long life DD has NEVER fallen asleep in her bassinet. She just started falling asleep in her nap nanny but I have to be sitting there holding the paci in her mouth and rubbing her head. Tonight after her feeding I decided to try not swaddling her legs like normal because I noticed she was kicking them up in her sleep anyway even though she was swaddled. So I held her til asleep and put her in the bassinet unswaddled. A couple minutes later, she woke up. I didn't feel like walking around with her again so I just left her there. She talked/fussed a few minutes, then was kicking her legs, and I told myself okay I'll pick her up in 4 minutes. Then things got very very quiet. I looked over and the child was asleep....

I NEVER thought this would happen...especially unswaddled

    Something very similar happened to me just last night. DS usually STTN, but every so often he wakes up for a feeding. He woke up last night at 2:30 so I changed him and fed him and I usually rock him back to sleep then put him back in his crib. Well last night he wasn't having any part of falling back to sleep while I was holding him, so I wondered what would happen if I just put him down awake but groggy. He talked and fussed around for a minute or so then just drifted off to sleep....Thank goodness!!!
