So DH and I are going to Oktoberfest goes Country tonight, we arranged for SIL and BIL to watch Jacqueline and all is planned and ready. When we left SIL and BIL's house on Sunday she said to me "I don't have anything planned right now, but if something comes up I'll let you know"
I get a text last night at 9:45pm saying "I just thought I'd let you know that I'm fighting a really bad cold. I don't want to get Jax sick, but it's you're call." Couldn't have told me earlier that you have a cold and would rather not watch Jacqueline? Thanks for letting me know at the last possible moment.
Thankfully DH's parents are able to come down from there home 2 hours away to watch her. I would have cancelled my plans and stayed home, my daughter is leaps and bounds more important than a night out...I just can't believe that she waited until 9:45 to say something.

Sorry for the vent...I am glad everything worked out after a lot of late night phone calls.

I wouldn't be too mad at her at least she didn't wait until the day of. I know it is still last minute but maybe she was waiting to see if the cold passed?

Thankfully you have a back up... I don't think that the day before is too late notice- a pain sometimes, but still ok... have fun!!

That's an uncomfortable situation to be in. If she wasn't that sick, it may have just occurred to her that she shouldn't get LO sick. There were times when I was a nanny for really little twins that their mom had me stay home when I had a minor cold. I felt fine enough to work but still shouldn't have been spreading my germs around.
