Cloth diapering wash-warm or hot?

I've been using hot because I wanted to clean the diapers, but I just got an email from Jillian's drawers that said warm was sufficient.

Do you wash on warm or hot? Obviously warm would be more economical, but I want to make sure it is germ killing not just diapers looking clean.

This is kind of pseudo science I suppose, since I'm not sure that hot water actually kills any germs, but I thought it did kill yeast.

I do cold rinse, hot wash, cold rinse. I think it would get them cleaner than warm.

I have always done hot but it has really killed the loop portion of the hook loop on all our BGs. I don't dry them so I'm positive that is what is destroying them.

I do a cold rinse, hot wash, cold rinse. We don't keep our water turned very hot so I don't know if that makes a difference.
