BF and need to Travel for work! HELP!

So today is my first day back, and my boss tells me I need to travel next week from Wednesday- Friday... I'm currently BF and IDK how I'm going to do this.. If I have to go I'll have to give my DD formula and I didn't want to introduce her to that yet.

Do you think I would have to go?  Aren't there laws regarding this?  Or does it make it look like I don't care about my job?

On top of that, he also told me I would need to travel for training for a week and a half in December.  Again... What will I do with BF?  I would have to Pump and dump the whole time I'm there and that just seems like a big waste of time!  I'm so upset!

Re: BF and need to Travel for work! HELP!

  • I will have to fly for my trip in december.. not sure how I can travel with a week's worth of milk?  Is there a way?  Would i freeze it and bring it on the plane?

  • Loading the player...
  • Do you have any sort of freezer stash built up?  Can you pump hard this week to get ahead a little? You should pump while you are gone, but ask for a mini fridge in your room and save your milk.

By December, you could theoretically have milk for the week you are gone and then pump and save again.

    Good luck!

I just came back from a short vacay with baby, for some reason he didn want to eat so I had to pump like crazy from being engorged and was able to freeze and then put in freezer bags in my suticase to fly home. I let tsa know when I dropped my bag off n they didn't care

  • Here is what the TSA website says about carrying breastmilk...(I would go to the TSA website and print a copy to the airport in case you have problems)

Medically necessary liquids and gels, including medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are exempt from the 3-1-1 rules, and are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding 3.4 ounces (100ml). They are not required to be in a zip-top bag. Officers may ask travelers to open these items to conduct additional screening and passengers should declare them for inspection at the checkpoint.

I would go on the trip, make sure to pump and bring the milk home.
