1st birthday presents for other kids??

So my daughter has a few " friends" that are turning one before or around her.  I know what she likes and what to get for her, but i'm completely baffled on what to get these other kids! I got one little girl a play blender with shapes and such. But there is another birthday party coming up for a little boy turning 1 and i'm completely blanking.  I dont want to spend more than 20- 25 absolute max.  any thoughts ideas?

    My son loves rolling a truck around, music (making it too), and the tunnel we just put up for him.  Maybe some blocks either regualr blocks or ones with different shapes. :) Good luck...oh, and at school, apparently he loves this little alligator pull toy that chomps when you pull it.

    Books are always a hit. Because they can grow into the book, and keep it around for a long time. Not just a toy that they play with once maybe twice.

    Depends on how close you are to them but I have just been loving the personalized backpacks from potterybarn kids. They are such a hit!!! And not too expensive.

    My go-to birthday gift is a ball-pounding toy - where you put the balls in holes at the top and they roll down through the toy to the bottom (if I'm making any sense at all).  Something like this:

    My son also loved all the toy cars he got for his first birthday.  And the jack-in-the-box.
