Expecting a 10/16 baby

Looks like baby Will will be arriving Tuesday, October 16th!! We go in for induction at 5am that morning.

I am being induced because he has been compressing the tube that runs urine from my right kidney to my bladder for several weeks and it is causing me not to be able to pee more than a few drops a day, plus it is excruciating. Also my BP is a little higher than they want at this stage so we agreed to go ahead. I know some ladies disagree with induction, but we feel that it is best at this point. I feel 39 weeks 3 days is a safe bet.

Anyway! I am so excited to have a date set!

Now I am just wondering if i will be able to get any sleep the next 5 nights. I am so excited!

    I'm getting induced on the 16th if he doesn't come on his own before then (due to GD)... I'm already 5cm and 90% effaced though, so Dr said it would be quick!!

    I'm due Oct 19th but am having a RCS on the 16th unless he decides to make his appearance before then! So excited!

    I should be having a 10/16 baby as well. My RCS is scheduled for that day, though my OB is seeing if it can be moved to Mon the 15th(I don't mind either way).

    It is almost worse knowing what day it will be lol!  Hope the suspense doesn't make it drag any slower!!  Best of luck to you!

    While I am generally anti-induction, I have always been clear here that I am not opposed to induction due to medical necessity. Sounds like you have a true medical need to induce and I can't say I blame you!

    I'm with Ali! If intervention is medically necessary, then go for it and embrace it! What I'm anti is people doing it for convenience :)

    Thats my due date too! I always thought it was a good number... well.. probably because 16 is one of my fave numbers lol. But yeah.. at least you know when hes coming! And who knows, he might even surprise you and come earlier! never know. ;) As for negative comments about induction, I think everyone understands that people need it sometimes when its medically necessary. Plus youre already 39 weeks which means hes ready... dont worry. Youre doing what you need to do keep you and baby healthy. Good luck!
