You should have saved that for FFFC because I have to say WTF are you thinking. I hope everyone judges you. Oh and me too for overreacting about what you do with your attire.

  •  I also wouldn't donate to an animal charity unless it was some local group that the money is going to be used locally (and even then would prefer to donate a bag of dog food long before money)...  Then again, I don't donate to most charities unless it's something like a product.  I make blankets for Project Linus, but I'd never consider donating cash to them.  It'd be one thing if I knew the local coordinator and they needed money for gas to run blankets everywhere to give them a gas card but still, I wouldn't do straight up cash...  I've been burned WAY too many times by charities such that if I know someone is in need of something specific (can't afford food/groceries, needs a coat, etc.), I'd rather help them out on an individual level just because I see too many people abusing the system...

I'm going to avoid watching the VP debate if at all possible tonight...  Even though secretly I realize it'll be like watching a train wreck...

I hate being a working mom.  I know a lot of moms out there work and are fantastic at both, but I feel like my work suffers and so does my daughter.  I'd rather just be at home with her.

Haha! I like paying more taxes. Free healthcare & 1 year of maternity leave? Yes please. It's worth it.

Me too. AND when I compared what was deducted on my paycheques with what my US nanny friends paid I was surprised that our take home was similar at our tax levels.

  • If you're in Canada, a part of your annual savings should go into a TFSA. You could do very well/tax free if you invest the yearly $5000. We have friends who think it's a gimmick. I shake my head. ( i had typed I shake my heads ha)

Don't take any deductions and go ahead, the IRS is still accepting checks!

I have been a SAHM for several months now, and I still think being a working mom is 10x harder.

This board has never died..it just sits like a bomb waiting to go off. The Gaza Strip of the December mamas!

Hahahhahaa that's okay I don't mind be judged by you. Oh and almost everyone wears leggings as pants around here so we don't judge each other. UO or FFFC seems the same to me these days!

Me too, if I actually benefit from it instead of it being wasted on crap or falling into some black hole in Washington. They would have to prove that they can be more responsible with our tax money before I'd be willing to give them any more.  Democrats and republicans.

  • I have one...if you are going to take LO trick or treating that's fine...but I side eye anyone that takes candy for them...last year I had random people who trick or treated at my door with baby in tow..these adults had no problem taking fistfuls of my candy for their LO...I mean themselves to eat...

I am totally judging people who do this. I will be dressing LO up and going door to door just for fun, but we will not be taking any candy. As a matter of fact this may be another UO but when LO is "of age" to trick or treat we will be dumping the candy in the trash anyway, and I'll replace it with store brought candy:) Can't trust the crazies these days Surprise

But what will it get her? Nothing, unless you change the system.

I know that and you know that...  The problem is people don't realize that government doesn't have an income problem, they have a spending problem.  The problem with that is no one wants to cut their little pet project (and by cut, I mean CUT, not decrease in the increase percentage for inflation)

    Yes

I think both parties, but especially Republicans, have become ridicuous caricatures of themselves. I am non-partisan, and have always thought the two-party system was a joke...but things have gotten so extreme...yikes!

I would love to be able to pay more taxes and get healthcare out of the deal. My husband and I have no healthcare at this time because the benefits at his job are outrageous. I'm sorry but $450 a month with a $12,000 deductable is NOT insurance.

It's the people that make a lot of money and don't have these issues that are against it. Walk in my shoes for a month and you'd be begging for insurance at a decent price.

You can do it! I wear leggings as pants, except I always make sure my butt is covered. That is the one rule. Layering usually takes care of that, or a long-ish sweater.

Yes I agree. People like all of us are made homeless by healthcare costs. insurance companies have made a system that can really ruin a person...for example, I was charged $250 for a carton of Dannon Light and Fit yogurt that I ate in recovery after LO was born. That makes no sense at all! Thank goodness I had insurance.

  • The cost of healthcare in the US is a joke. I don't know what I would do if I lived there. I had to go to the hospital every other day for testing and blood testing for two weeks before I gave birth and I never got charged for anything.

I only paid a portion of a T3 prescription they gave me while I was in labour.

  • I envy anyone and everyone with main floor laundry.  Only a man would design a home with the laundry room in the basement as an afterthought.  Maybe that's an FFFC?

Also, I wish grocery stores would stop wasting energy cooling the whole store and put doors on ALL cool/cold products.

One of my favorite classes in college was the Economics of Healthcare.  We have such a high cost system is it rediculous.  There are other lower cost alternatives out there, but certain entities will make less money if implemented.

Well crap, I knew I was doing something wrong.

    A. MEN.

I am fairly certain I would do laundry more regularly if it wasn't in the basement.
