He woke up this morning coughing, sneezing, telling me this throat hurts. He is 2 and about 40 pounds, can I give him anything over the counter to help with these symptoms? (Because Motrin/Tylenol)
Lots of liquids. Humidifier at night. Saline drops and suction the nose out. Motrin/tylenol for pain. There's a honey based "medicine" that's safe for toddlers, and I will use the baby Vicks at night if the cough is really bad.
That's it. There's no real cold medicine that's safe for kids under 4.

Thanks so much! I wasn't sure if there was anything OTC he could have yet. I put on the vaporizer last night and gave him some Tylenol. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon.
We use Hyland's Cold and Cough or just Cough because it's homeopathic and uses honey. My dr. said honey has been shown to boost immunity as well, and Hylands is safe for little ones. We usually don't give her medication unless it's really bad.
Re: First cold of the season, what can I give him?
Vitamins, warm soup and lots of love!! We use a natural cough/cold stuff. https://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=216767&catid=183069&aid=338666&aparam=216767
Works some but being not young not much else you can give them.
