Horrible nightmares?

So in addition to not falling asleep til after 2 am, despite going to bed at 10, I woke up at 6 am after having a horrible nightmare. I was so upset my heart was pounding and I had to turn the light on to make sure the bad guy was gone! I haven't had to do that since, oh, I don't know, 7 years old? I have been sleeping so poorly lately. I guess this is more of a vent, unless anyone has ideas on how to get rid of nightmares!

Re: Horrible nightmares?

  • I've been having that same issue since the very beginning of my pregnancy. I can't sleep & when I finally do go to sleep I awake from a nightmare or just a crazy dream period. I don't think their's much we can do I have read it's the hormones causing this to happen.

  • Been having the exact same issue :/  Last night (or should I say this morning) i woke up at 3am from a nightmare and couldn't shake the anxiety it gave me. My heart was pounding and I had to get up and check on my boys.  Had to turn on the tv to try and tune out the dream but couldn't go back to sleep:( This has happened all too often lately.

  • This happens to me too. I have horrible dreams about 5 times a week. I dont think there is anything you can do to prevent them but I try to avoid watching TV an hour or two before going to bed. It helps a bit.

  • I've been having them too. I had one this weekend that I lost the baby and SO was out of town so I didn't have anyone to hold me while I cried :(
