What are you planning to take LO home in? With it getting colder, not sure I want to take her home in a short sleeve little dress...even though it is super cute. I keep thinking...with a blanket over her, its not going to be seen anyway.
However, in the future I might try to do a shadow box of a few items from her first days, like her take home outfit.
And what about gowns?? I have read that they are considered an interference with the harness of the car seat (or just that you have to pull them up, so now LO legs are exposed)? So it is better to stick with oneies or footed outfit/pjs.
Re: Take home outfit??
We have something like this, but it has blue stars on it. It's from Kissy Kissy because I loooove how soft their clothes are!
I'm also bringing a knitted blanket to tuck around him once he's strapped into the carseat in case he's cold.

We are thinking about this outfit with a hat and fluffy warm socks. We will also as pp said be bringing a blanket to wrap / tuck under him when he is strapped into the carseat for more warmth:

I'm going with a footied onesie with built-in mittens so I don't have to worry about any pieces or any exposed skin. I live in Florida so it's not likely to be cold but I'd rather him be completely covered so I don't have to even think about a blanket. I'll also put a little hat that DH's cousin knitted on him.

We're just bringing him home in a sleep-and-play, nothing special. Since it's cold though, he does have a teddy bear zip up furry warm onesie thing (I'm sure it has an actual name), that I'm pretty excited for him to wear home.
Probably a footie sleeper. If I get the lead out and finish knitting his baby blanket and a hat to match, then I'll just cover him with that in the car seat. If not, I'll probably put a light jacket on him with blanket over all, too. I've been scanning Amazon for cute outfits, but will probably go in to Target or TJ Maxx and pick something up, unless I get something perfect for it at my shower this weekend.
With DS, I don't think he actually ended up going home in the outfit we had planned though, because he ended up wearing several different outfits while we were in the hospital.
Mine is like this too, but fuzzier and warmer seeing as we are in MA. We have a matching hat and blankets.
I made the mistake of putting DS in a 3 piece layette outfit when bringing him home and it was falling off everywhere(NB size). His feet would just come up to his body and the sweater was just too much. I figure this time around I'll make it easy on the both of us and just put him in a onesie and the footed outfit with hat.
We have that outfit too! I love it!
I can't find our outfit on the Carter's website. It's a 3-piece with a onesie, little pants, and a little snapped cardigan. But, it's a newborn size and we're fairly certain he's going to be a big boy, so we bought a back-up 3-month footed, long-sleeve sleeper with little footballs and the feet look like cleats. I really hope we can squeeze him into the newborn outfit.
I didn't want to go too crazy on the coming home outfit. Yes, there will be pictures, but there will be so much else to be thinking about and nobody will be with us, so I'd rather save the super cute stuff for when people will see him.
While staying at the hospital, we use the kimono style shirts no pants and just swaddle with a blanket. I find it easier this way as I had to undress DS while nursing because he would fall asleep all the time
Thanks! I just picked up some of these shirts a couple of days ago.
Detroit Lions jersey and a fleece blanket in the shape of a football to cover him with
I'm glad I'm not the only one! I love Kissy Kissy, I just feel bad because they're so expensive. I have a gown by them and a footie button-down onesie thing? I guess you would clal it a bodysuit/footie. Anyway, his going home is this with light blue leggings/pants from Carter's.
thank you
I can't wait!!!! I asked my SO "Well, what if he comes out a she?" He says "She will be the prettiest wide receiver I've ever seen!" lol
If she is going home on a Sunday, she will definitely be wearing her Steeler jersey home. If not, we decided since it will be cold, on this little fleece jacket (the stripes) with little pink fleece pants! Super cute.

So cute!
I love seeing everyone's outfits! Such cuties.
We're bringing DD2 home in the same outfit we brought DD1 home in. (assuming she's not too big for it!!) It's a kimono style top & pants with feet. I did buy a lovely soft new blanket just for her to throw over the carseat to keep her warm.
It's special to me because the outfit was the only thing DH was remotely interested in picking out the first time around. Don't get me wrong, he's a great dad, he just didn't seem interested before she came. So when HE picked out an outfit & said he wanted DD1 to come home in it, how could I say no?
(of course, I have a back up outfit packed, too. just in case)
I looked all over for a boy's outfit that I really loved but I could not find one so we settled on an outfit that someone had purchased for our baby shower.
It is like this Carter's set. But instead of being a duck it is a Frog. It has a little hat with froggie eyes that stand up on top. And is a light grass green stripped onesie, with footed pants that have frog faces on the feet.

Im having such an issue with what to pick! I have 3 outfits boy and girl picked out and I cant seem to make it any less. *We arent Sure of what we will be having, just that we have a mover!!*
I know I want one cute outfit for the hospital pic they will take, and a cute coming home outfit. I figure one incase something happens. I know that sounds crazy and such a FTM thing!! (But I AM a FTM!! lol)
How many outfits are you ladies taking with ya'll?? Also all the outfits seem to be 0-3 months which will be a little big more than likely. I might go NB outfit shopping and be able to just take 2 each instead. One NB, One 0-3. lol. I'm known to be an over packer though!!
DD, born September 3, had a cute sweater dress on and no diaper issues or spitup issues or anything.
But we learned from DS to have at least 2 outfits, for those precious newborn baby moments.
I am taking one newborn outfit, one 0-3 outfit and an extra 0-3 sleep and play just in case we have an accident on the way home. Our hospital asked that while we are there we use their kimono style tops so I am not packing anything to wear during the stay.
