Ha, ha...didn't want to disappoint.
Today was my last day at work! I found an amazing job that is TEN minutes from my house (no more 3+ hour commute to the city). It's a great opportunity in a different field (I was so hating my current industry); great benefits; more money; and more vacation! And did I mention it's TEN minutes from my house?! Ha! They also have fertility coverage, so we can get on a faster path to baby #2.
I have a week and a half off to relax, see friends and spend time with DS. Yay!
Re: Sooo...(no, this is not a BFP announcement!)
That is so exciting! Congratulations to you!
And way to work in a bit of down time before starting the new job.

Congratulations...sounds wonderful!
I too commuted to the city and it sucked! I haven't worked there in over 6 years and did it for about a year and a half...I don't think I'll ever do it again. I don't know how my poor husband does it everyday...but, he doesn't complain about it nearly as much as I did. lol
Thanks, everyone!
My commute was about 1.5 hours one way. Even though I was only commuting 3 days a week, it was getting old. And spending $312 a month on train tickets was killing me. So, that's a $3700 annual insta-raise right off the bat.
I was working in business development for an architecture/engineering firm. Now, I'll be doing business development for a financial services firm. I don't know anything about finance, but it's basically using the same skills just in a different industry. So, I'm excited (and a little nervous too!).
How funny that the engineering firm was in the city and the financial services firm is in the suburbs. Awesome! I'm an engineer and I always had the hardest time finding a good job in NYC. I always thought there were better opportunities in the suburbs, but MH needed to be in the city for his finance job with long hours.
I am so jealous! I am hoping to find something closer to home while out after this baby comes. Problem is for me that closer to home will probably mean less money and I just don't know if I can do that at this point.
Congratulations, and enjoy your time off!
