Re: What are you getting your LOs for Christmas?

  • We didn't buy ds anything for his first Christmas.  We bought dd a Winnie-the-pooh shaped photo album to put pics in it for her.  We only bought her a present this year as I didn't want ds to see that dd didn't have anything.

  • I posted this in the post in 3-6 months but...

We got him a teddy bear (a Coca-Cola polar bear with a Santa hat- we got it on our first trip with him a few weeks ago)

This thing... we think (an excersaucer)

  • We're not planning on much- some clothes he already needs, a few books, a couple new toys. And a stocking filled with little things, a mix of stuff he needs (diaper cream, bibs) and little toys and fun stuff.

I actually bought his first Christmas gift yesterday- Walmart had a bunch of baby toys 50% off so we got the Fisher Price Baby's First Blocks for him. I'm ridiculously excited to wrap it up and put it under the tree!

  • Nothing, still don't buy my 2 yr old anything. They will get enough from family...
  • She has a few books, a toy doggy & a puzzle saved right now. I'm sure we'll pick up a few more things, but we aren't going crazy because we're trying to see what everyone else gets her.

She'll be really spoiled so I think it's silly to over-do it.

  • New pjs on Christmas Eve and maybe stacking blocks under the tree. We kinda went nuts for DS1s first Christmas and realized later how silly it was. He was 9 months and we got him way too much (even though, at the time, we thought we were under control). Now we have tons of books and enough toys from DS1 and DD that DS2 will prob get the one thing.

  • Made him a photo book on shutterfly called the ABCs of Burke. Wrote something for each letter and put pictures of him in it. He won't care if he gets anything and I made the book as a keepsake regardless.
  • we've started a savings acct for him and will be giving him access to his savings account when he turns 18.  Since LO is so young and I am constantly buying him things anyway, regardless of christmas etc. DH and I decided to put a set amount of money for him each year for christmas and his birthday into his savings. Our plan is that he will have a good amount when he graduates and can use it as spending money when he is in college.
  • She's getting a My Pal Violet. We have plenty of toys but I want to get her a buddy of her own. My son loves his My Pal Scout.

  • We will be purchasing new Christmas pj's for DS to open on Christmas Eve, new clothes, probably a few books, maybe some baby einstein DVD's, we are buying a package of 25 play balls to put into his pack and play for him to have a DIY ball pit to play in, and a stocking filled with little stuff. I know that our parents are going to go hog wild buying stuff so I don't want to get too much for him just yet. He will have more fun in the boxes anyhow...HAHAHAHAH!!!

  • This! She'll be 6 1/2 months, so should be able to sit up unassisted and manipulate things well by then. It's expensive, but includes a lot - I think it'll be really fun and also good developmentally.

  • I'm so excited for Christmas! If DH would let me I'd go ahead and put the christmas tree up & start wrapping presents (I buy presents as I go, if I find something perfect for somebody I go ahead & buy it & store it) We've already got DS two gifts & I plan on for starting a quilt for him for Christmas this weekend! And idk what else I know I'll probably go a little crazy cause its his 1st christmas & our 1st child but I am trying to hold myself back cause we've go a lot of aunts & uncles & grandparents who will be buying him stuff too!
  • I saw this cute toy rocking horse at Costco the other day that I'm thinking of getting him.  That is, if my mom doesn't buy it first!

  • A bunch of books, maybe a few outfits and some Melissa & Doug wooden toys since we're staying away from plastic ones. I'm out of control though, so I'm sure as soon as I walk into a baby isle I'll be buying way more than that.

  • I'm almost done with shopping for LO. We already purchased the following: The Magica Rattle, Munchkin 50 Shapes Bath toys, Melissa and Doug 50 piece wooden block set, Melissa and Doug shape sorting cube, Stacking Cups, The FP Laugh & Learn Puppy, an Infantino shopping cart cover, and a FP Outdoor infant-toddler swing.

We have three more things on our list to buy. They are the Winfun Letter train and music activity table, Green Toys my fist stacker, and Pewi Ybike ride on toy and walking buddy. That last one he won't be able to use right at christmas, but not long after so it went on the list. =)

We'll probably also get a few more Cloth Diapers and hopefully his convertible carseat to.

I'm going to fill his stocking with some bibs, pacifiers, socks, and small books.

We've already told our family that books and clothes are the only thing they're allowed to give him for chirstmas. haha. We're currently house hunting and our apartment is going to be busting at the seams if we're not careful. Thankfully everyone in the family is perfectly happy with books or clothes.

I LOVE M&D stuff. The local CD store here carries a lot of it and I ordered a few things for LO from them. We're doing the same in avoiding plastic toys. I'm also very set on giving him kid powered toys instead of battery powered toys.

  • DS loves his stuffed Nemo and he LOVED the movie! It comes out in 3D in December so that is one gift we will be getting him. There are also some books I had my eye on to get him. We will also be getting a glow worm, this is the only toy we will be getting though because I know my mom is going to go nuts in that department.
  • I got a Groupon or LivingSocial deal for one of those Rockabye rockers, so he'll get that.  Other than that, I may "gift" him with clothes and diapers.  He'll get plenty from family and won't know the difference to go and spend a ton of money this year.
  • Getting the baby a jumperoo, two Melissa and Doug toys, my pal Scout,  and a teether by the same company that makes Sophie, only these look like little aliens.

our older daughter is getting an easy bake oven, a Barbie DVD, some girl Legos (she loves Legos), and probably some arts and crafts activities.

Also, the whole family gets a board game and the kids get pjs on Christmas Eve.

  • He'll be getting books from us, some bath stacking toys, and maybe some clothes.  Little boy has plenty of toys, and I'm sure will get toys from everyone else, so I'm trying not to go overboard...that said...we'll see what happens when I'm in a toy store buying presents for our nieces and nephews...  Stick out tongue  But my goal is not to go overboard since he doesn't need anything, and won't know the difference.
