What size did you LO wear home from the hospital?

Curious because the girls were 4+ weeks early, so they were in preemie clothes for thier trip home.  I just have one LO this time, and am trying to decide if I should bring a NB or 0-3M outfit to the hosptial (DH and I are both very tall) and the twins were very tall for preemies (19in, 20in at 35 weeks).

  • She wore NB, because that is what we had, but she could have fit into preemie stuff.  She was 5lbs 5oz 19 in.  Born at 37 weeks.

  • 0-3months (it was huge on her) but that was the smallest size the florida gator footie came in.

  • Im almost going to say SS because DD came home in a onsie the hospital provided... but im sure it was NB, so thats what I picked.

I would say you are fine with NB. Even if your baby is a little larger, they stretch. Or just bring a NB and a 0-3 outfit- not like they take up a ton of room Wink

I have 2 NB sleepers backed in my hospital bag

  • M was born just after 35 weeks, 6# 7oz, 20.5" long and wore a Carter's NB outfit home.  Mostly because that's all we had, but it fit her pretty well.  I tend to think Carter's stuff runs small though.

  • DS wore a 0-3 onesie but he was swimming in it.

  • C was 8lbs 12 oz and he still needed a NB outfit.  We had both a NB and a 0-3 JIC.  He actually wore NB for a good month (except in Gerber).

  • I responded to the other post before seeing this. DD was 7lbs and 19 inches at birth (39w) and wore NB home. She didn't fit into 0-3 for a while.

  • Both of my LO's wore Newborn.  However, both were born at 38 weeks and were 6 lbs 8 oz.

  • DD was 8 lbs, 5 oz. and a GERBER newborn fit her!  So hard to believe, those things are TINY!!  She fit into newborn stuff for a couple of weeks and then moved into 0-3 months.

  • I brought both NB and 0-3 because they kept telling me how big she was going to be.  She ended up only being 8lb, 21 inches.  NB was just fine!  0-3 would have been too big.
