Two weeks ago I went to my Day 12 folly scan and only had one folly at a 12mm an the rest smaller than 10 (which the tech said were basically not measurable). I went back on CD15 and that folly was only a 13. I was only seeing my OBGYN, who worked with a RE in the office. He and I agreed that it doesnt look like this cycle was going to work with such little growth so he said that if I did not have a positive OPK in a week to start provera. Fast forward one week and receive a positive on CD21. We decided to switch to a RE and I met with him on CD25 (mon). He decided to do an ultrasound and progesterone to see if I did in fact ovulate and the number was a 16 at only 3 or 4 days (at most) post ovulation. I know numbers do not mean much for pregnancy but this was very surprising for me since I generally never get over a 10 at 7dpo. The RE even seemed very surprised. The only thing different about this month is that I started metformin about 6 weeks ago. We did Femara 5mg and metformin this month.
Re: Weird Turn of Events
Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!
BFP #1 6/22/09 EDD: 3/2/10 DS born: 3/8/10
TTC #2 since Dec 2011
BFP #2 7/8/12 EDD: 3/18/12 M/C @ 9w1d: 8/16/12
Thank you! it makes me feel hopeful either way just to have a good progesterone number
I went to the RE and he basically said that he doesnt think I have PCOS. He thinks I am more 'hypothalmic' is what he called it or somewhat of a cross between the two. He had a hard time categorizing me. However, he doesnt seem to put much weight on lean pcos. I do. I have done a lot of research on the subject! So, I am staying on the metformin...been doing accupuncture too.
