Yesterday I had a dentist appt and I let them know I was pregnant in case there was anything they needed to avoid or do differently.  Both the hygenist and the dentist spent the entire time gushing over me and asking all about our plans for baby.  I suppose it was nice for them to be so excited, but I just felt really uncomfortable the entire time.  Anyone else not feel comfortable around people who shower you with attention as a result of being pg?  I don't think I would feel this way if I hadn't gone through IF...

    oh my gosh, I am the same way. I am actually very nervous about telling people b/c I hate being teh center of attention, especially when there is gushing involved---yuck!

    Wedding showers were very difficult for me when I was getting married. At least I have a while til I have to tell :)

    me (36): Hypothyroid (on Levothroid), low vit. d, borderline/high fsh (day 3: between 7-10) (day 10: 13 during CCCT), AFC: 14
    dh (31): awesome (minus one sample with agglutination)
    Diagnosis:possible DOR and/or unexplained + elevated NK cells + MTHFR (C677T - one copy)

    MAY 2011 - FEB 2012 - 3 injectable IUI's with numerous cancellations due to high TSH levels
    MAY 2012 - onto IVF/ICSI (Antagonist Protocol) on BCP and Folgard (3 week delay - cyst - boooo) 5/21 start stims 5/30 ER 11R 8M 3F 6/2 3DT of 3 6/12 Beta #1 83 | 6/14 Beta #2 196 | 6/21 Beta #3 3818 | 6/28 Beta #4 22,213 | 7/2 1st U/S - 2 on board! 8/24 CVS reveals that we have a boy AND a girl on board!

    Healthy baby boy and girl born in February, 2013 at 38 weeks and 2 days!

    Yes, we have only told those that knew we were going through an FET.

    My Step Mother-in-Law congratulated me and put her hand on my stomach - which I thought was totally odd.

    I have daily calls from my BF and texts from a couple of girls (DH BF Wife and My BF from the boards) and I am always afraid to say anything not wanting to either complain (Morning sickness has kicked in) or really don't want to jinx anything.

    I think with time it will become okay for all of us. IF has just really screwed with our heads!

    I'm 36 weeks and still don't like the attention. It makes me very uncomfortable and I get a lot of it because I am having twins and am so big.  It makes me feel weird and kinda guilty like they are more excited than I am.  Even though I know at this point I have take home babies I am still scared thanks to IF.

    YES!  I really struggle with all of the attention that I get being pregnant and especially with carrying twins.  It seems like that is all that everyone around me wants to talk about and I don't like being the center of attention.  The good news is once the babies are born they will get all of the attention and people won't care about us as much.

    Yes!  I'm with you on this one too.  I want more than anything to be "in the clear" enough with this pregnancy to feel secure enough to tell people, and yet, I'm dreading any over-the-top reactions....

    I definitely think IF makes us more cautious/tentative.

    I am a little bit....depending on the person.  If its a complete stranger, then I get weird.  But if its a co worker or friend or family, I just grin and love it!
