NT Scan update

DH and I had a horrible start to the morning, got stuck in traffic and ended up being 40 minutes late for our appt!! The wonderful staff got us in right away with no issues, but after spending 1.5 hrs with a full bladder I couldn't hold it one more minute and ended up going to the bathroom before the u/s.. oops!
Baby was being a bit uncooperative at first, curled up in a ball with legs crossed, lol. But then started bouncing around. I was surprised that the u/s tech said I had to be 11 wks 3 days to get the NT, I'm only 11wks and the baby is measuring 11wks, she said even though the measurement looked normal, the Dr. won't accept the results unless I'm 11wks 3 days exactly. Sigh, so I have to go back next week. Good thing is we got to see the LO and I got the bloodwork portion taken care of so it will be back by the time I have the NT next week.
We had an appt right after to discuss the Harmony test since the Matern21 isn't offered in NY state yet. Our genetic counselor said it's mainly because of issues with the fact the Matern21 tells you the sex of the baby and there are differing views on that. Anyway, after hearing they have only used the test for 3 months, DH and I decided to hold off for now. The genetic counselor said they've seen tru positives but haven't used it long enough to know if there have been false negatives and also it's 99% accurate for DS, and goes down to 90% accurate for T13 and T18. After we started talking about I realized having 2 tests pending was going to freak me out alot. You can get the Harmony test up to 18 weeks so we have time. Sorry so long, I'm always a little hyper after seeing the LO, so cute!!!

It was totally weird, when I called to schedule I told them how far along i would be and they said it was totally fine from 10-13wks, but apparently not!!

How bizarre that they won't accept the results because you are *3 days* too early. I mean, that's really not much. So sorry you have to go back and do it all again, but it sure is nice to see your LO jumping around in there. At least you got the bloodwork done!
My ob's office won't do the NT scan before 12w0 days, which seems awfully conservative to me. I had mine done at 12w4d and was measuring 13w1d or something like that.
Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.
That is very weird! Why did they bother to schedule you so early when they said you had to be 11w3d? Does the 3 days make that much difference?

That is so annoying! At least you get an extra u/s and chance to see baby but I'm sure you were hoping to get good news and be relieved sooner. For mine I will be 12w3d and they told me the best days were either the day I chose or the two previous days.

I'm surprised that they scheduled your scan when they did. Our perinatologist's office said that they only do it between certain days (11w5d and 13w5d, I believe), and they simply don't schedule people outside of those times in the pregnancy. It sucks that they made you waste your time like that, but on the plus side, you got an extra chance to see LO!
I'm going to be doing the MaterniT21 - it's new for me since it wasn't available during my last pregnancy. I decided to go ahead since it's way more accurate than the sequential screen (as my doctor said "it's not perfect, but it's better than anything we've had before").
