Fashion/shopping questions

I am in a clothing rut and have been striking out at the stores. Can any of you all recommend a couple of nice sweaters/tunic tops to wear with skinny jeans/leggings (bonus points for LIP!) I am shortish (5'4) and trying to lose 25lbs (all in my hips/butt, of course) so I definitely need coverage in that area but am desperate to break out the boots again.

Side note: can anyone recommend some leggings that hold up. All of mine from last year are pilled and faded and weirdly stretched out. I'm willing to pay a bit more if they hold their shape and wear well.

    Old navy had a bunch of dresses on sale. Some of them are summerish, but I throw on a sweater and leggings with boots and it makes it a fall outfit. Target had some cute dresses that you could wear with boots too!

    I have heard awesome things about American Apparel leggings.  I am going shopping this weekend and was going to pick up a pair

    Have you looked at Ann Taylor Loft? They have great tops. 

    My friend is a manager at Soma and swears by their leggings.
