Is anyone else on an odd Dr apt schedule??
I had gone for an ultrasound at expected 8 wks, and found out I was only 6 wks, so I kept my regular apt for 4 weeks out and have been going at 10, 14, 18 weeks...
Anyone else on a goofy 4 week schedule (instead of what I see as the normal 8, 12, 16, 20 wks)?

Re: Odd Dr. Apt Schedule
I'm on a wacky schedule, too, but that's because spot checks (my appointments for constipation and a UTI) on my blood pressure, weight, and baby's HB showed everything to be fine.
I went in a 7w6d (clerical error-- I was supposed to be 11 weeks), then had an appointment scheduled for 15 weeks. I went in for a UTI two weeks ago, and they found baby's HB, so they pushed my appointment back to 17w.
Why every 3 weeks? Going in at 8 weeks for your first appt. would have put you on the "ideal" schedule. 8 wks, 12 wks, 16wks, 20wks, 24wks, 28wks, etc. They call this the "ideal" schedule because you go in right on target for most tests. IE: they prefer to do the a/s at 20 wks, the GTT at 28 weeks, etc.
OP- I've had wonky appt. schedules with a few of my previous pregnancies. Usually off the "ideal" target by a week or two. It wasn't a big deal. (except it drove my OCD BSC, lol) My midwife said most tests have room for a 1-2 week leeway. The only thing I had to go back for before the 4wk period was up was my a/s because the u/s tech at my practice doesn't do them until 20 wks.
This time I am right on target, having my 1st appt. and 8wks and going in every 4wks, which makes the OCD happy.. LOL.
I'm on the same schedule because my first OB appointment was at 6 weeks.
Same here... there isn't really an accross the board standard for when the first prenatal appt is, so I don't think there's a particular schedule for check ups. Some practices switch to every two weeks instead of four earlier and later too.
I know it's not a huge deal but I am a bit OCD too and it just seems "off" to me - not that my Dr's office thinks there is anything weird about it... just me. Glad to see I am not the only one on a goofy timing! Though I do agree with PP that all of the tests and checkpoints seem to happen on the 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 weeks periods.
