My best friend is coming to town the weekend before Thanksgiving and wants to take me to start my registry.  I kind of feel like that's a bit early since I'm not due til the middle of April, but I don't really know.  I'm going team green, and I'm sure I'll change my mind on what I want a million times before I deliver, so I don't want to get all registered just to change it every other week.  When are you starting your registry?  or have you already?

Re: When are you starting your registry?
I went ahead and did mine w/my BFF's encouragement a few weeks ago. This allowed me to go back, research a few things, refine the list. So that, by the time people go to look at the list and buy anything, I will have it drilled down to what we really need/want. There are so many things to remember and register for, I really don't think you can start too early.
I will say that I didn't do a lot of clothes or gender specific items.
Can't wait to meet baby Liam Paul!

You can research & add stuff to your registery anytime you want, start now if you really want to. You don't have to make it public until much later.
I used a registry to keep track of all the things I had been keeping my eye on, or narrowed down and wanted to go see/touch/feel in person before choosing what I ultimately would want. I think I initially set up like 3 registries, one each at Target, BRU and Amazon while I shopped around. I ended up just making the Amazon one public and deleting the other two.
This is what I'm doing. I've been learning about great baby items that I never knew existed and I don't want to forget them. Ive selected a few things on my registry in whatever colors. I'm going to find out the gender, so I can go back and pick a different color later.
Since this is baby # 2 for us, we probably won't start a registry. Although I have been toying with the idea of making an Amazon Wishlist, to keep track of all of the items we will be purchasing.
With DD, I started my registry around 14-15 weeks. It was nice to be able to go through and check reviews on certain items, and change the registry if need be. I did most of mine on-line.

SO SMART! I never really understood why moms won't register until they know the gender. Wouldn't you want your gear to have legs for future children? Outside of a little bit of nursery decor and baby clothes (which I would never recommend registering for, because people will then only buy you clothes b/c they are so cute and you'll have tons of newborn clothes baby grows out of in 3 weeks, and then you have to go out and buy all the real baby necessities on your own), does knowing the gender make any difference in purchasing new baby gear?
I started one online a few weeks ago.
I wasn't even expecting a shower as this is my second but my aunt was insisting we do something, so I gave in. Then I got excited and added a few things that I know we need.

Hi all,
Just curious. How do you make a registry private (does anyone know if that's an option through Target or Diapers.com)? I would love to start registering but we're only 11 weeks along and haven't told anyone (including family, I'm being probably overly cautious) yet. I know as soon as we do tell, they're going to want lists for Christmas purposes.
Thanks!!
