GimmieTimmies-carseat ?

Ug, good Lord, I am so irritated. Somehow (don't ask me how) my not quite 3 year, almost PT'ed DS didn't have his pull-up on right and literally saturated his Britax on the way home from the babysitters. Don't ask me how his pull-up was literally around his ankle and not on his butt because I don't even know. I un-installed the seat, and even the seat of the car was soaked! I know I can wash the cover, and I know I cannot saturate the straps. But the strap that has the metal thing on it that the harness straps slide into is soaked. The foam is wet as well. Any tips as to what I can wash and can't? Does anything need to be replaced? I have an older model Roundabout 50 Classic. I'm not going to let it dry and chill there as I'm afraid it will stink. Grrrr.

  • You can hand wash the foam piece very carefully. I would maybe do a vinegar/water mix in the sink and just kind of soak it and the gently push the water out.

As far as the harness, you can use a gentle soap and water mix with a rag and kind of wipe it around, then wipe off with another rag. Does that make sense?

I would lay everything in the sun to dry and that should help with any stink as well.

Thanks lady! Work hasn't updated IE and I can't see TB!! This is exactly what we do, it has worked on blow out, pee, and stomach eruptions. Vinegar and sun drying are huge for getting rid of smell.
  • Thanks ladies! That's what I'll do! Good thing we have a back-up seat!
