What kind of things are you ladies thinking about putting in your baby books / scrapbooks?? I bought a scrapbook with tons of pages and stickers and all the fun stuff but other than pictures I'm not sure what else I should put in it. Maybe I should have both.
Also on a side note; my mother when she was pregnant with me gave both of my grandparents a grandmother book to fill out...anyone thinking of doing something like that?!
Re: spin off from baby book
Right now, my LO's babybook is lacking! I haven't written her first moments of crawling or walking, I need to get in that.. The baby book I got DD came with a memory box.
anyway, I kept all the papers they gave me at the hospital, food menu etc. all three of our hospital bracelets are in the box, the hat they put on her, and some other random things I can't remember at the moment.
The book doesn't have much, I had her feet printed in it and my mom filled out a lot of the hospital info for me because my hand wouldn't work! (Epi problem) but other than just filling out what the pages asks for there really isn't anything extra to add.
We did not and don't plan to do grandparent books.
I am putting together a mixbook of DD's first year for the grandparents and will hopefully have it done by Christmas.

I really liked what was in DD's baby book.
It had pages about: what we thought about her before she was born, each of the parents, the birth announcement, handprints and footprints, when she got her baby teeth, coins/stamps/other items from her 1st year, what things cost the year she was born, what people/things were popular the year she was born, etc. It also had a page for each month from 0-12 and then birthdays 1-5. I took a picture beside the same stuffy each month to show her growth.
I would flip though a few actual baby books for inspiration if you don't want to do both.
The one I'm working on so far has pictures from each ultrasound with a little tag with the date and some info... baby boy, 2 pounds, fat cheeks like mommy, etc.
I have a whole seven pages.
Exactly. I hope she just wants to take pictures of them, not put the actual pee stick in the scrapbook. I might cry.

Re: the grandparents books, I'm getting a set of these for everyone for Christmas to fill out. (Including DH and I.) I know that's kind of weird because they have to do the work and then give them back to me to hold on to for the baby. But I think they'll really like doing them.

We are doing a grandparent book - well for my husband's side of the family anyway. They emigrated from Poland after the war and have an amazing {and tragic} history. I am giving it as part of my hostess gifts for my mom and MIL for the shower...
I separately got my parents these grandparent figurines that I love... but might cave and get them a grandparent book as well!
So far I haven't had a chance to actually do anything other than brainstorm and gather up stickers, die cuts, photos and ideas for LO's baby book/scrapbook. I've got note cards as page holders so I can plan out what will go where eventually. I do know that I want to put a baby photo of DH and I in there with some family tree info, and we'll both be writing a letter to our LO for him to read when he's much older. What else? A page for bump photos, another for ultrasounds, photos of shopping for baby things with my family, DH and a friend putting the crib together, the nursery, pages for the baby showers. I plan to include LO's hospital bracelet, and his footprints, his birth information, a page for each of the first 12 months, first Halloween and Christmas, first word, first haircut, first tooth, first bath, etc.
Sorry, I'm babbling, but this is our first LO and I'm very excited about documenting the pregnancy and his first year.
