LO Not Rolling Over

So for some reason, DS is not interested in rolling over.  He did a few times when he was younger, but now he just sort of twists his body around but doesn't actually complete the roll (tummy to back or back to tummy).  My pedi said he's a little big so he may be a  little late rolling over.  She also explained that since babies started "back to sleep" they are rolling over later in general because there's not as much incentive to roll over (they can see the world while laying on their backs).  Anyone else's LO not rolling yet?

Mine is just about 5 months and still not rolling over. He did tummy to back a few times when he was 8 weeks old but nothing since.

I am not concerned at all :) I am enjoying these non mobile days while I can! I am so not looking forward to when he can roll onto his back in his crib (he's a tummy sleeper) ;)

I'm enjoying the nonmobile days too.  I have yet to baby proof anything Embarrassed

  • DD is 5 mths and still not rolling. She is far more interested in sitting up, and our Ped said that some babies just hit their milestones out of order. She said there is nothing wrong with that.

  • My LO can only roll back to front.  It's been fun dealing with that at night.  I've started just leaving her and not freaking out as much when she's asleep on her belly.  I still stare at the video monitor to make sure she's not face down though!

  • DD rolled once about a month ago, and I'm pretty sure it was an accident. Nothing since, and no real interest. She prefers to hold my fingers while she sits and pull herself up into a standing position on her own. She'll walk before she crawls, I'm sure of it.

  • No rolling for us. He rolled from front to back at 3 months once and now doesn't have any interest at all. I'm not worried yet.

  • The twisting thing us a precursor to rolling. My LO rolls sporadically, and he does that twisting thing all the time. They'll be rolling soon!

  • DD has only rolled over 4 times so far. She doesn't seem that interested even though she's on her belly a lot and doesn't mind it (or maybe that's why she's not rolling much - she actually is OK with tummy time?). I also find that she gets distracted by her hands - she needs at about face level in order to roll, but she always just ends up sticking them in her mouth and forgets about trying to roll!

One of my friends' daughters didn't roll until 7 months, though, and she's a perfectly healthy toddler!

This made me laugh because I have the opposite 'problem'.  My LO has been a rolling fool since about 3 months. Now I put her in her crib, turn to grab something from her closet and she is literally on the other side of the crib. It is crazy!!! However, she doesn't have a whole lot of interest in sitting up.
