Where do you buy your CDs?

We are seriously considering opening a CD store and I need to do some market research. So the question is do you buy your CDs online or would you prefer to go to a store?

Thanks ladies!! This would be a HUGE change in our family and I'm freaking out a bit that we are even thinking about it.

Re: Where do you buy your CDs?

  • Both.  I bought the majority of my stash online because at the time I didn't have access to a local CD store.  One opened in my area in March, and I try to buy as much from there as possible but they don't carry everything that I need/want so I still buy some online.

  • Both. I have half brand new from craigslist and people selling here on tb. But I have a store three min away and I love that store too. I've bought new there.

I bought a few at a local store before it closed down, and since then I have had to buy online. I would love to buy at a local store as long as the prices were comparable. I think if there were used diapers at the store I would really be interested in that as well (for buying AND selling).

This is definitely something we talked about. I would love to be able to supply used diapers as some sort of by back or exchange program.

  • There are a few CD stores in my area. I don't mind driving to them to buy CD's. However, we have bought mostly online now.

  • I voted 'online' though I've gotten some of my stash from other moms on craigslist. I've never purchased a CD in an actual store because the closest place to me that carries them has a terrible selection and charges $1-2 more than MSRP.

  • Both!! The store opened after DD was born and we already had a bunch of diapers. If I was first starting out and had a choice between the two, I'd definitely prefer to shop at a store so I could see the products and ask someone about them.

  • I would rather in store. There is one in town but they don't carry everything I wanted to try. I thought about opening a store too and Im not even an experienced CDer so good for you!!
  • SS.  I buy them from a woman who owns her own CDing store (in her basement).  She has a website so I "shop" and make my purshase online and then pick them up at her store.  She has also let me shop in her store when I wasn't sure what I should buy.  It's just a room in her basement but she's got a ton of selection and can order stuff in if she doesn't have it.

  • Both. I do LOVE going to the cd store tho espically for the used section. I spend hrs in there! I do have to admit I also buy quite a few on ebay.
  • I like going to the store, so much that it was the first place we took our newborn baby. We have a Cotton Babies in our city. Its not just the diaper selection that I appreciate, but they also have free classes and people who will answer all your questions.

  • I would much prefer going to a store however the CD store near me is on campus and I don;t like going on campus to often. If it were in a ore convient location I'd go more often. I prefer the store though because then I'm not waiting for days to get what I purchased and I can feel/see the product before I buy and can decide if it's the correct item for me.

  • SS!  >90% of my stash is used CDs that I bought from various Craigslist sellers.  As a result, I have quite a varied stash and I always get to inspect the diapers beforehand to make sure they're in decent condition.  And I am paying way way way less than full price...

  • I bought all of mine online out of necessity - we don't really live near anywhere that carries them & the few stores that do have a really poor selection/retail over MSRP.

I'd love to shop in a store, but they'd have to have to have a good selection & pricing comparable to online.

  • I buy them from Nicki's Diapers www.nickisdiapers.com and it's great because you earn points for every dollar you spend that you can redeem for $$ on future orders.

  • There are several local stores that sell CDs but not the kind I want to try. I ended up buying everything online either thru diaperswappers.com or via my diaper registry at an online store. I would love to be able to buy what I need locally. I would probably have more diapers if I could see them first.
