Playtex Ventaire bottles

If you are using them is there a trick to them?

I bought one today to try because DD is eaing better sitting in a seat as opposed to being held. We were using Born Free and Tommee Tippee bottles and they are hard to get a good angle with while seated. Well DD sucked and sucked (the playtex bottle) and nothing is coming out. I adjusted and re-adjected everything and nothing else worked which lead to a major baby meltdown that took 90 min to end! And now she freaks out when I offer her a bottle... which I know she needs...

Is this bottle just tricky? Or is maybe clearly not working and just forget it?

Re: Playtex Ventaire bottles

  • I personally LOVE those bottles... I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working though.  We use the ventaire that are the wide ones.  What size nipple are you using?  That might be an issue.

  • We have the standard nipple with a medium flow. When I checked the bottles temp it dripped out but LO didnt get any to flow.

I saw the wide ones. Maybe I should try those next.

Have you used fast flow? Are they much faster then the medium?

  • The fast flow are quite fast. We have them for our DD and she has her bottles with rice in them for her reflux. Even thickened the fast came out pretty quick and she was wearing most of it for a couple days until she got the hang of the new flow! The vent air bottles are great though, I have only had them stop working if they were clogged...sorry it is giving you trouble! Baby melt downs are not fun, especially hungry babies!
  • What I think happened was the med flow nipples I bought didn't get the hole punched through on them! Poor hungry babe! I managed to squeeze a drop to test the temp but the hole is practically none existent. I'm going to try again tomorrow when she forgets this ever happened.... With nipples that work.

shes currently pulling out DHs hair and giggling so its almost all systems normal again.
