DS was not dropping and becuase of previous back and pelvic injuries my OB was 98% sure I would end up with a c/s anyway. I was more scared of laboring and pushing and ending up with an emergency c/s then anything. I know what surgery recovery is like and liked the idea of being prepared. Everything went routinely and my recovery was pretty easy. I have not regretted my decision for 1 second. I will be having RCS this time around.
Well my OB didn't consider me a good candidate for VBAC but I if I wanted to push for one I think he would have let me. Honestly my Csection was a great experience with a great recovery. I am the type of person to make decisions based off of experience so that is why I chose RCS

I will opt for a scheduled c section with #2 when it comes time. I was in labor over 18 hours when I had my section last time, my water broke and we headed to the hospital (just 4 days before my EDD) and the little stinker just would not come out. I pushed for 5 hours. It was incredibly frustrating, mentally and emotionally draining. They gave me the option of a c section or vacuum once I started running a fever, due to risk of infection. Opted for the c section which was over in about 30 min. I had a great recovery with little pain and little immobility, so for me, I simply don't want to go through the whole experience again.
I had no desire to labor or push out a baby. I'm not afraid of surgery. I'm an obsessive compulsive planner. When I went to my first OB appt he started by saying "well since you've had a previous c-section..." and I said "when do I book the repeat?".

I am sure that when the time comes this will be me to a T. My c-section was a really great experience and if the next lo ends up footling breech a VBAC will be out.
With DS, I wanted to have a VBAC. However when it came time for me to decide at 32 weeks on whether to schedule or VBAC I decided to schedule. DS was Frank Breech until 36 weeks (not uncommon) so at the time I had no choice. If he flipped I was given the option to VBAC but at 38 weeks he was still really high up and was not moving down (not putting any pressure on my cervix)
My doctor wanted to do my c-section between 39-40 weeks. To avoid going into labor if I was going to do a c-section so I opted at that time to go with the c-section. I also did it because I did not want to risk all the drama that was associated with my DD delivery (I had a failure to descend with fetal distress emergency c-section that ended up with general and me having lots of breathing issues). In the end it was a good idea that I went with the c/s. DS was a large baby at 10 pounds (just like his 9 pound sister) and he had a large head (off the charts) so I would not have been able to vaginally deliver him anyways.
I had a vaginal delivery with DD that was very painful. I had a third degree episiotomy and pushed for hours, which later resulted in a bladder prolapse. Another vaginal delivery would likely have made the prolapse worse, and so I opted for a csection this time around. My recovery was great compared to before and I would do it again.

I wanted to VBAC my third after my second was a scheduled c section because he was breech. However, the doctor started telling me she was 10 lbs and didn't feel comfortable having me VBAC. He told me the only way he'd want to let me VBAC is if I went before 39 weeks. I caved and scheduled the repeat section at 39 weeks and she was only 2 ounces bigger than my eldest who I'd had vaginally. SHe was 7 lbs 13 oz, NOT 10 lbs. So I was pretty angry, but what was done was done.
My first c-section was due to LO being Frank Breech. I plan to have a repeat c-section this time, mostly because I love and trust my doctor and she never recommends VBACs due to the risk. She has explained it to me and I completely trust her opinion..
Also.. I loved my c-section experience. It was amazing, and I had a relatively easy recovery. Like PP said, I"m also the kind of person who loves to make plans so I like knowing what to expect and when (to and extent) to expect it.

I elected for my C/S because I own a dance studio. The only thing a group of Preschool mommies have in common that don't know eachother and sit in the lobby for 1 hour a week is child birth. So that's ALL they talk about. I heard every horror / warrior story there is and the only ones that smiled about childbirth were the C/S moms.
I also had no interest in pain, anguish, spread eagle, or anticipation.
It was great for me and the recovery was a breeze. I have NO regrets.
