affordable jogging stroller

Can you reccomend your jogging stroller? Im looking for something affordable...maybe $150-$250 range....Ive read the reviews but its hard to go by if these people are actually runners! Im not worried about rough terrain just a stroller to be able to handle compacted gravel trails.

The 3 strollers Im interested so far is the Baby Trend LX, Tike Trek, or Joovy Zoom. TIA!

Re: affordable jogging stroller

  • I had a Jeep Liberty Urban Terrian but there was no locking option on the front wheel.  So, when I ran, the wheel shimmied.

I sold it online and could another fixed wheel stroller used.  The one I got was Bear Mountain.  I have used it a lot this fall to run with DD3 (while the other 2 are in school).  I think as long as it has a locking option on the front wheel, you are good.  I have friends with the baby trend one and love it.

We have an In-step double jogger and my only desire is for a higher handle, but I am 5'9" too.

  • I have a joovy zoom 360 and love it! It folds really flat and for 2 years has worked well with my toddler and infant.  I highly recommend!
  • Baby Trend, a few of my friends have that same Brand and like it.  I also got the car seat to go into it (so I can take my 2 month old out for "runs") but at BRU the Baby Trend that is in the travel system has the front wheel lock by the front wheel (so youd have to stop go around the front and lock it and unlock) I got them separate and the one I got has the front lock on the handle.  I have really enjoyed it so far.
  • I have a Baby Trend Expedition travel system and I freakin' love it! I haven't tried jogging with it yet because I had a C-section and I'm not quite a month PP, but I really love walking with it and I'm sure jogging will be just as enjoyable. So far I've used it over paved asphalt roads, and really thick grass (a soccer field, to be exact) and it handles like a dream. I paid $200 for it at Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot. I really love the whole system, it's super easy and convenient.

I think the LX is a little more expensive, but probably a tad nicer also. More bells and whistles if that's what you're looking for. Hope this helps. Good luck!
