I probably just need to be slapped. LO is in her crib [in our bedroom] for the first time. She sleeps perfectly in the RnP if she's swaddled. So I laid her down in the crib, finally, swaddled. We've put her in it before but I recoiled in horror as she was able to tip over onto her side, and since she only sleeps swaddled, I'm terrified that she will end up rolling onto her stomach and suffocating.
So I'm laying here, wide awake, dim lamp on, staring at her. For the past 40 minutes. I am just so scared of this. So please, tell me stories of your child not dying in his or her crib!
Or, rather, was anyone else horribly scared of this? I know laying swaddled in the RnP is less safe than the crib. But I guess it's a mental thing.
Granted, she's starting to stir now. This may not last long tonight anyway. But still. Millions of babies sleep in cribs every night and yet here I am wondering how in the world. haha.
Re: Terrified of crib. Me, that is!
When Aiden was in the NICU they had this thing that looked like two rolls held together with a piece of fabric that they had him laying in. Granted he was on his stomach in it, but I am sure you could use something similar and have her on her back swaddled that way. they just lay down under the arm area where the trunk of the body is. I found something similar online:

dunno if it is clicky or not.
